Disney Parks and Resorts have revealed that Guests may mix and match colors between their "icon" and "band" with the new MagicBand 2:

Interesting ... makes sense, since the centre "pod" is removable. I wonder if you will be able to customize it as a two-colour band, or if you'll need two bands.

These were created in preparation for not needing a band at all, right?

I believe they already have key fob and carabiner style 'puck' holders for sale, so you can go without the band now.

Be aware, though, in order to remove and reinstall the "puck" you need a teeny tiny screwdriver...

Not for sale yet - I have seen some upper level management using them (key fob), so my guess is that they are still in beta testing...

Looks like the screwdriver is included from the pictures online. Anyone confirm this?

Read a report on another site (with pictures) that they were for sale Monday 2/13 in the CR gift shop and they did include a screwdriver. They were on the bottom row of the MB accessories rack. They were limited and sold for $9.95 plus tax. Disney Parks Blog also posted earlier this week that they are now available for purchase on site so we should see them popping up in stores shortly.

The band I received in the mail did not include a screwdriver. To be fair, I wasn't looking for one. Unless you're talking about accessories coming with a screwdriver.

The pictures I saw were of the bands themselves. The screwdriver would be needed for mix and match.

I was able to just order my magic keeper
from the shop parks apps. There are three
different ones available. They did not show up
with a search on magic bands, or magic keeper,
but they did show up under "new in parks'. I ordered
the minnie mouse one. My AP discount brought
the price from $12.99 to $10.40 in case anyone was
    wondering about the price.

Thanks for this, I've been stalking the app. Have to go order mine now! Dh gave me a small red Coach Disney for Christmas (which I use when we go to dinner there) so I'm getting Minnie too.

It is the accessories that come with a screwdriver. I'm wondering if the screwdrivers from the little eyeglass kits sold in the grocery store would also work.

if you currently have a version 2 of the magic band, you can look on the back and see the size - when I looked I thought the eyeglass screwdriver would work - but did not try one.
