Hope not
Read some very disturbing news just now. At least it is for me, I don't know what you would think. It is from (Market Insider).. Wall street is saying this and some analyst allso.
Wall Street is starting to talk about the possibility of Apple buying Disney (DIS, AAPL)
It says Apple has the money 2billion. Iger and Jobs were friends at the same college way back when. Iger is hopping to stay on as CEO after this year. Of course Apple holds a very large share in Disney. I guess this was all planed. Well, I hope that plan dose not happen.

It would take a lot for Disney to be sold to anyone. Unless it is a hostile take over. This is something that has been discussed as a possiblity for several years. My father in law is a fortune 500 financial person. He says the chances of this happening are very slim. Apple would have to pay a prium price for it. Something they generally tend to avoid when aquiring another brand

I've heard this a bunch of times before, and I have to admit that it intrigues me. If it ever came to be, it would be very interesting ... and maybe even good.

current market cap of Disney stock is $177 billion, not $2 billion. Not saying it couldn't be done, but it would be highly unlikely.

I think this rumor has been lurking in the shadows for a while. Apple wants an in with media and it is easier to build vs. buy. People tend to have a love/hate relationship with Apple much like Disney. Sure there are lots of casual fans, but there are big numbers either fiercely for or against. I've always been a fan of the Disney/Pixar/Apple relationship so I like it. Then on the flip side there are people that say Apple products are overpriced and lack creativity. I would hope it would bring some cool new tech to the parks.

BWfan....You didn't read my post right or maybe I miss led you.????? I said Apple has 2billion. Or I don't under stand you.

BWfan was stating that the Market Capitalization (currenty stock price x total shares issued) for Disney is currently at $177 Billion, so the $2B that Apple has for cash (per your statement) wouldn't be enough to buy out Disney Stock, not to a controlling interest.
I think he/she was simply stating that $2B isn't enough to take over Disney.

I'm sure Apple could leverage the deal.
I wonder if they are financing that new headquarters or paying in cash?
