    Default Child under 3

We are taking our granddaughter for the first time next May. She will be free in the parks at 1.5 years old but do we need a magic band? Do we need proof of her age at the parks if we don't need one? When making dining ressies at 180 days do we mention her needing a spot at the table (hi chair) ? Thanks for the help.

If you are staying at a disney resort she will receive a Magic Band. She won't need a ticket and she won't need to have it scanned. If you are staying off property she does not need one.

You won't need proof of age. Reservations for meals you should include her as a guest. If you make your reservations online you can label her as an infant. At check in at the restaurant just let them know if you need a high chair/booster or chair removed to make way for a stroller.

And as a heads up at family style restaurants (Ohanas) and any buffet on property she will be free and welcome to take her own plate.

There is nothing to stress about when taking a child under 3. At the entrance gates where you scan your magic band for entry, there are gates they open to allow you to roll them through after you scan your magic band. They don't need a magic band for anything although, as mentioned, if you are staying onsite, they will give them one. They obviously do not need fastpasses to ride with you either since they are not required to have tickets.

Dining is pretty simple too but you do need to list them on the reservation if you make any.

Just an FYI, they sell pretty good umbrella folding strollers at the stroller rental spots at a price that isn't typical Disney over the top crazy expensive. They were $35 last year. Just thought I would mention that if you don't want to lug around a big one and don't have one of the lightweight umbrella type.

Something you might consider doing because young kids love doing it and to beat all, it is FREE!, check out the campfire sing along and outdoor movie at Fort Wilderness. They sell marshmallows and skewers for the kids to roast marshmallows in the camp fire. They have the stuff to make smores too if you care for such.

Thanks everyone for the help and good tips. We are split stay at Boardwalk and Poly so the Campground from the Poly would be very easy one night.
