Lightbulb OK, .Time To Get Organized

Since there seems to be, up to now, a lack of communication between attendees, sponsors, organizers, etc. as a whole (ICOT10 was NOT this way), I thought I would start this thread as a way to kind of get all of our collective "ducks in a row", as it were.

As referenced from the schedule, who's going to be at what event, where you'r staying, arrival & departure dates, ADR's, etc. Supply as much, or as little info as you wish. I'm attending solo, so I wouldn't mind sharing a meal, ride, etc. with fellow InterCOTees. Let's get organized!

It looks like I will be going solo also - and I plan to be at everything on the list!

Not making any ADR's - figured I'd just wing it - eat when I got hungry.

Yup. Thought about the same thing, but there are a couple of TS places I've just GOTTA eat at. I limited it to 3, otherwise I'm "winging it" too! All of them are before or after the ICOT event, 'cause I know those three days are gonna be NUTS!

I'm going solo as well. Making the 15/20 minute commute from Davenport. I'll be at all or most events. No set dining plans.

We're under 100 days now and I'm getting excited!

I'm going with my mom (KarenP). We were originally staying at the BoardWalk Inn but switched to the Polynesian. It's the resort I consider "home" at Disney and I've been missing it! The plan was to stay for four nights but we've extended it, so we're at five nights now.

Day #1 - We're going to try to make it to Disney Springs to meet up with everyone in the evening.

Day #2 - We plan on doing the first three events at Magic Kingdom that day. The Carousel of Progress and Haunted Mansion are two of our favorites. Plus, you'll definitely catch us at the Magical Journeys Trivia It'd be nice to meet up in the evening, but we are considering doing Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party that night. It's a must-do for me if I'm there in October and that looks to be the only night we'll be in MK!

Day #3 - We're definitely going to do the breakfast and hoping to do the Canada celebration and Jellyrolls. We wanted to do Gary's Column but have a dining reservation that'll overlap- boo If we can manage to find the dining reservation earlier, we'll be there!

Day #4 - We're planning to head to Animal Kingdom since that's where everything is going to be. Looking forward to seeing Pandora for the first time, and with the group!

We booked a few dining reservations, most excited for 'Ohana!

Can't wait to spend time with everyone!

We're coming in on Wed 10/11. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, it's pretty much a necessity to come in the day before you really want/need to be there .

Staying at OKW Wed & Thurs nights, then moving over to the Poly Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Plan on participating in pretty much everything. Likely won't join for the entire Lounge Lizard soiree, but will meet y'all at Tambu Lounge. May not make it to Jellyrolls either, but we'll see.

Really looking forward to this meet.

    Woohoo!!

Not sure where I'm staying yet but I will be flying in at Midnight Thursday. I'll see everyone Friday morning in MK- there's EMH that morning so I'll be there early I'm in for pretty much everything on the schedule, really looking foreword to the Lounge tour, or as I'm calling it, "progressive dinner."

Saturday I'll be at breakfast, Soarin, Column and Jellyrolls, hoping to get a FP for Frozen since I haven't done it and do some food and wine sampling if it's not too crazy (yeah right).

Sunday my flight is at 8pm. I can't wait to check out Pandora and take a few rides on Everest. I will miss the Podcast taping, sad because that was one of my favorite parts of the last meet.

We will be there Wednesday AM. Staying at OKW and we will be doing most if not all the events. Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting some of you that we haven't met yet. This is going to be a very fun weekend. We are prob gonna wing our meals too. If anyone has any suggestions for a group meal outside of the scheduled events, let me know and see if it works out.

I as planning on staying over there Thurs-Sunday since I live a little over an hour away, but I had to make a few cutbacks this year, so I will drive over on Friday and do the MK meets but head back home Friday night. I am hoping to get a good rate at my favorite off property site Saturday night so I can stay over and do both Saturday and Sunday meets.

I will not miss this for the world! So I may be exhausted on Sunday if I have to drive back home sat and back again on Sunday but it is totally worth it! But I will not be making any of the nighttime -bar meets as I will most likely have at least one kid in tow

My sister Jenn and I are coming down on Oct. 12-16. We rented some DVC points and are staying at Bay Lake Tower. We'll pretty much be at every event, so come say Hi! I think the only dining reservations we've made are for a breakfast at Be Our Guest the morning of Oct 13 (never been there yet!), and then a few of us are grabbing dinner at Via Napoli on the evening of Oct 14 before Jellyrolls.

And hey, Brad192, if you're feeling like there's a lack of communication from the Intercot organizers, let us know how we can make this better! I don't want you to feel we aren't communicating plans well! What can we do to make this more streamlined?

Just a quick comment - if by organized you mean that there haven't been announcement on pay events - that's because Disney has essentially priced us out of the ability to do that. So, right now, the schedule is the schedule. If you have some thoughts, pass them along. I wish it weren't that way and certainly would love to do some potato barrels at the private room above the living sea, but unless we come into a flood of money, it won't be happening

That said - I certainly appreciate you starting this thread though and getting things rolling

In some ways, it's a miracle we've made it to 20 years and should be celebrating that fact and supporting our existing sponsors - Magical Journeys, The Timeshare Store, Quicksilver Transportation & The Official Ticket Center. They help keep the lights on and the magic coming to you!

I'm working on swag/apparel this week and should have things ready very soon. We should have some t-shirt, hats and polo's available.

Finally - the schedule is here http://intercot.com/news/icot20/ and will be updated as needed as we draw closer to the event!

    Thanks!

    Can I request V neck T's? LOL

We are coming in on Thursday and staying at the Swan. Plan on doing all of the day stuff, but will be honest and tell you that if at all possible I will be heading across town to HHN for the evenings. There is a Stephen King house this year!!!

MNSSHP is cute, but HHN is where I will be LOL

If anyone wants to join in let me know. I will be either renting a car or Ubering.

Any way we could add Trader Sam's to the lounge crawl agenda? I've never been and would love to check it out.

    Smile Really, No Issues...

    Carolyn, John:

I really don't have any issues with the planning, communication, etc. at all. You guys are doing a great job, and it's really appreciated. I just remember ICOT10 & the huge amount of buzz here on the boards months in advance of the meet. Not so as yet with ICOT20, so I thought I'd "light the candle" on it. (Ya know, proactive & all...). It's just too bad Disney won't cut us a deal on a big catered meet up, after all, we're some of their most loyal and dedicated fans! I'm sure most of us would be willing to pay a reasonable amount extra to do that.

Oh, and I completely forgot to add my info!

Flying in afternoon of the 10th, staying at Pop Century, flying out morning of the 17th.
ADR's for Kona on the 11th, Brown Derby on the 12th, and La Hacienda on the 16th, and I don't like to dine alone too much so send me a PM if you'd like to join me & we'll arrange things.

I'll be at most of the meets, especially the group rides! I understand there was a bit of an "event" on Small World for the 15th! I'm still on the fence about Jellyrolls, as I really want to be in top shape for Sunday at AK & I'm not much of a nightowl anymore.

Oh, one last thing. John - Bring on the swag!

I haven't been to the the Grog Grotto either, Nikki.

Trader Sam's was discussed, but I think the consensus was it might be hard to get a table for our group and time we will likely arrive on a Friday evening.

I'd be up for keeping the Tropics Theme going and head over after the Dole Whip and Tiki Birds Meet for a Light Dinner at Trader Sam's before the official Kick-Off at the Wave at 7:00 if you or anyone else would like to join.

I'm still looking to share a room with someone at a value or moderate if they are willing. I am arriving Thursday night at MCO around midnight, and leaving Sunday evening. I'll be at almost all the ICOT20 events so just need a place to rest and shower PM me!
