Hurricane Irma Update for Walt Disney World Resort
Based on the latest forecasts for Hurricane Irma and keeping safety top of mind, Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, Disney Springs®, Water Parks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will begin a phased closure to be completed by 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. These areas will remain closed through Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 with the hope of resuming operations on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017.
The phased closures are as follows:
Disney’s Blizzard Beach® Water Park: Closed as of Friday, 9/8 – Monday, 9/11
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon® Water Park: Closing Saturday 9/9 at 5 p.m. – Monday, 9/11
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex: Closed on Saturday, 9/9 – Monday, 9/11
Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park: Closing on Saturday, 9/9 at 7 p.m. – Monday, 9/11
Disney’s Hollywood Studios®: Closing on Saturday, 9/9 at 7 p.m. – Monday, 9/11
Epcot®: Closing on Saturday, 9/9 at 9 p.m. – Monday, 9/11
The Saturday, 9/9 Illuminations: Reflections of Earth performance is canceled.
Magic Kingdom® Park: Closing on Saturday, 9/9 at 9 p.m..
The Saturday, 9/9 Happily Ever After fireworks performance is canceled.
Disney Springs: Closing on Saturday, 9/9 at 9 p.m. – 9/11
CLOSURES, CANCELATIONS & MORE
La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil 9 p.m. show canceled on Saturday, Sept. 9.
Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort will close Saturday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort closed as of Friday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney's Saratoga Springs
Treehouses will be closed beginning Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.
SPECIAL EVENT UPDATES
In anticipation of inclement weather associated with Hurricane Irma, please note the following event cancelations at Walt Disney World Resort.
Night of Joy at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complexhas been canceled on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. The performances on Friday, Sept. 8 will take place as planned.
Guests with tickets for Saturday are welcome to attend Friday’s event instead by exchanging their tickets at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Box Office after 4 p.m. Friday.
Requests for a full refund for either event night will be honored.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been canceled on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017. The event will take place as planned on Thursday, Sept. 7. Guests are invited to exchange their Sunday, Sept. 10 event tickets for one of the following options:
Tickets to attend another Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Tickets to attend an upcoming Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
1-Day Magic Your Way Tickets with Park Hopper Option, to be used within the next 2 years
Receive a full refund for event tickets
To redeem these offers, Guests should call (407) 939-7818 by Jan. 31, 2018 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., or email us at [email protected]. Please have your tickets available so we may process your request for you as quickly as possible. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.
Please note the Disney Reservation Center is currently experiencing heavy call volume. If you need to service a reservation for arrival between now and Sept. 13, 2017, we encourage you to stay on the line. If you need to service a reservation for arrival after Sept. 13, 2017 we recommend using your online booking tool, or call back at a later time.

The Walt Disney World Resort has announced the following Operational Hours for September 12, 2017:

Walt Disney World’s Theme Parks and Disney Springs will reopen Tuesday, September 12 with normal, advertised operating hours. Special events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, will also take place. Water Parks will remain closed tomorrow and will reopen later this week.
HOURS OF OPERATION FOR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
- Magic Kingdom Park – 9:00am-7:00pm, with an added Extra Magic Hour beginning at 8:00am for Disney Resort Guests who weathered the storm with us
- Epcot – 9:00am-9:00pm, with previously scheduled Extra Magic Hours from 9:00-11:00 pm for Resort Guests
- Disney's Animal Kingdom – 9:00am-9:00pm; Kilimanjaro Safaris will open at 1:00pm due to continued clean-up following the storm
- Disney's Hollywood Studios – 9:00am-9:00pm
- Disney Springs – 10:00am-12:00am
- Blizzard Beach – Closed
- Typhoon Lagoon – Closed
*There may be modifications to some attractions and entertainment offerings.
DISNEY RESORTS
All Disney Resorts will begin normal operation September 12, with the exception of Fort Wilderness Campground and Disney's Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas.
Fort Wilderness Campground will remain closed at this time while assessments to the property are completed.
To allow Disney’s Fort Wilderness to prepare the property after Hurricane Irma, all shows at The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will be cancelled Tuesday, September 12. Any existing reservations will be automatically cancelled and refunded.
Disney's Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas are scheduled to re-open on Thursday, September 14.
Disney's Vero Beach and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resorts will remain closed at this time.
TRANSPORTATION
Guest Transportation will be available beginning Tuesday morning, September 12.
DISNEY RESERVATION CENTER
Disney Reservation Center will resume operations Tuesday, September 12. In the meantime, Guests are welcome to use the Help Center for vacation-related inquiries about their upcoming vacation.
