Question Rumour Regarding Name Change for Disney's Hollywood Studios?

While Rumours and informal announcements of a name change for Walt Disney World's 3rd theme park have been circulating for sometime, the first Rumour specifically pointing to a selected name has begun some circulation.

Of a list of seemingly surreal names circulated from a reported survey, it is now being rumoured that Disney Cinemagine Park has been selected as the new name for Disney's Hollywood Studios park as part of the larger overhaul project.

While the name selection is still far from confirmed, a more concrete expectation is that the change will likely happen May 2018 around the park's anniversary and just ahead of the first major phase on the park's re-imagining--Toy Story Land.

    -------------

On a personal note, if the park isn't re-named Disney Hollywood Adventure park; I think it would be a big miss. The symmetry with its essentially sibling park on the west coast (Disney California Adventure park) could help build a more recognizable brand and blueprint like the "castle" parks do (the "theater" parks?). Likewise having Carthay Circle Theater and the Chinese Theater as the two icons of the two parks would be nice parallels to two very important theaters (and eras) in Disney Movie history.

I would definitely be on board with this. "Cinemagine?????" What the heck are they thinking? OK, I guess the answer there is that they're NOT thinking. Too much of a mouthful for most people to use...

This seems to be a sign that Disney no longer knows how to market themselves or their parks.

Cinemagine makes me think of cinnamon and some specialty drink at Starbucks, not Disney. That's just where my brain first went when I read it, despite being on a Disney board. But what do I know...

I agree ...Cinemagine is just silly. I keep thinking of king Charlemagne, probably not what I want to be thinking about on vacation.

I second the idea of Disney Hollywood Adventure park - great suggestion!

What a stupid name. Surely that isn't true.

We also still slip and call it MGM.

Dumbest idea ever. Totally agree with Jasons comments at the end of his post. He is spot on.

I'm not even sure how to pronounce this correctly. Is it pronounced -
    Cinema-gene?
    Sin-imagine?
    Sinay-magine?

I don't like it either, but I don't understand people suggesting it's hard to say. It's a portmanteau of "cinema" and "imagine." So: sin-a-MAJ-in

But if enough people are suggesting it's hard to say, that alone should give Disney pause.

    Cinemagine? Yup. Terrible idea.

And we, also, still call it MGM.

So their convoluted logic won't let them call it Disney Hollywood Adventure because they fear it will be confused with Islands of Adventure. Heck, people go to MK today and ask where the Harry Potter stuff is anyway, so what's the big deal.
If they don't want to do that, make it another Kingdom:
    Magic Kingdom
    Animal Kingdom
    MOVIE Kingdom

    I'll still call it MGM.

Any name other than one which includes "Hollywood" would be insane. The loss of so many iconic original attractions is enough of an insult to the long-time fans of the park. There are so many reminders of Hollywood already at the park, with more to come, either keeping the current name, or insuring that "Hollywood" is prominent in the new name is the most logical option.

I completely imagined this in a really deep male voice. Now I want to listen to Jazz and eat Cinnabon.

That's because you use words like "portmanteau" and have Beethoven as your avatar Not all of us rooted for Major Winchester in MASH.

Even with you phonetically writing that out, still difficult for me to say quickly. And makes me want a cinnabon.
