Tidbits
April 2018
A View to an Increase
4/15/18 The Magic Kingdom has announced price increases for its two Fireworks Dessert Party options. Effective 5/28/2018, the Dessert Party with Tommorrowland Terrace viewing will increase to $84 for Guests Ages 10 and up and $50 for Guests Ages 3 – 9 and the Dessert Party with Plaza Gardens viewing will increase to $69 for Guests Ages 10 and Up and $41 for Guests Ages 3- 9.
Explorer’s Elixir
4/15/18 Jungle Juice (aka Liliko’i Juice at Polynesian Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort) is being served in a new cocktail at the Dawa bar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Ngumu Jungle Juice cocktail is Myers’s Dark Rum mixed with Jungle Juice and is priced at $10.75.
Transition of Tomorrow
4/15/18 Guests at the Magic Kingdom park may notice several aesthetic changes in Tommorowland well ahead of the opening of the new Tron lightcycle coaster. The land appears to have started transitioning to a new paint scheme dominated by blues and white. Additionally, the unintentionally popular photo spot, "The Purple Wall"; has been updated with a new geometric design (shown here). Finally, the Little Green Alien merchandise kiosk has closed and removed in what is reported to be the first of several changes to unify the land with the cleaner aesthetic shown in the Tron lightcycle concept art.
Character Change-Up
4/15/18 Disney’s Animal Kingdom is reducing its number of Character Greeting opportunities in April. On April 14th, the King Louie and Baloo Meet & Greet location at the Upcountry Landing ceased operation. On April 22nd, the Flik Meet & Greet location along the Discovery Trails is scheduled to cease operation.
Trendy Treats 2.0
4/15/18 After the Rose Gold craze struck Walt Disney World’s confectionery factory, it appears that Millennial Pink will be the next shade of signature sweet. The centerpiece appears to be the Millennial Pink Milkshake priced at $6.99 at Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies in the Magic Kingdom. This signature strawberry shake is topped with cotton candy and a house-made millennial pink Mickey Mouse marshmallow.
The Magic Kingdom isn’t the only theme park getting in on the craze, Epcot’s Fountain View café has also debuted the Millennial Pink Minnie Mouse Strawberry cupcake. The cupcake is comprised of a vanilla cupcake with strawberry filling and is topped with pink buttercream icing, edible pink crystals, and pink fondant Minnie Ears.
Several of the Walt Disney World resort hotels are also serving up their own variations of a Millennial Pink Minnie Mouse cupcake. A Guava filled vanilla cake version can be found at Capt. Cook's at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has, while a Raspberry filled chocolate cake version can be found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both versions are topped with Millennial Pink Buttercream Icing and pink fondant Minnie Ears. A Chocolate Cake version with raspberry marshmallow filling and topped with raspberry buttercream and Chocolate Minnie Ears can be found at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort , all three of Disney’s All-Star Resorts.
Elsewhere around the resort, is a Millennial Pink Raspberry Cream Puff at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, a Millennial Pink Minnie Mouse Crispy Pop at Disney's Boardwalk, and a Millennial Pink Minnie Mouse 'Sweet Sip' at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs.
With the Millennial Pink Minnie Mouse Chocolates released earlier this week at the The Ganachery, that's a total of 10 new treats to try on your next trip!

Wow - a whole bunch of not really good news. I can't believe how expensive the dessert party has become! Glad we've done it, so we're not tempted to pay that price.
I'm also sad to see character meets go, hopefully they will be replaced with other characters.
As always, thanks for sharing and keeping us up to date.

I'm loving the new paint schemes around Tomorrowland. It reminds me of the bright clean colour scheme in the 80's. Lots of gleaming white and splashes of colour here and there.
