    Lightbulb Tidbits May/June 2018

    Tidbits
    May/June 2018

    Change and Dine

5/29/18 Disney’s Hollywood Studios has refreshed its character line-up for the Disney Junior Play 'n' Dine Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. Handy Manny was replaced by Roadster Goofy in Mid-May 2018. The rest of the breakfast character line-up remains Sofia the First, Jake, and Doc McStuffins.

    A Passing Pageant

5/29/18 Guests looking for the Electrical Water Pageant this Summer need to be aware of a revised schedule. To accommodate the Summer fireworks schedule, the Electrical Water Pageant currently passes by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at 8:40 pm and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at 8:55 pm before resuming its regular schedule past the other viewing locations. The “Summer” schedule will continue until August 18, 2018.

    I Scream for Churros

6/24/18 A Magic Kingdom snack spot has added a new sweet combing two Disney favorite treats. Sleepy Hollow refreshments in Liberty Square has added a Vanilla Ice Cream Churro Sandwich priced at $6.49. As its name implies, the dessert is a vanilla ice cream patty sandwiched between two spiraled churro discs.

    Cosmic Changes

6/24/18 The new exterior seating area at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café has been completed. The popular Magic Kingdom Quick Service dinning spot now offers a larger area of covered, open air seating. Fans are part of the covering, but this new area will still likely be less comfortable than the indoor, air conditioned seating during the hot Florida summer months.

3/11/18 Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in the Magic Kingdom is undergoing a small expansion. Construction Walls have recently been raised outside the seating area across from the Tomorrowland Speedway. Area Cast have reported that this construction is for an expansion of the outdoor seating area.

    A New Presentation

    6/29/18
The ‘Coming Attractions’ section of Walt Disney Presents has replaced the Toy Story Land with an expanded exhibit of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

6/24/18 With the grand opening of Toy Story Land looming, Hollywood Studios Cast have begun to report changes to the ‘Coming Attractions’ section of Walt Disney Presents. The combination archive and preview center exhibit is scheduled to undergo a partitioned refurbishment June 27 through June 28, 2018. During this time, construction walls will be up around the Toy Story Land preview section of the exhibit. It has not been concretely reported what new addition the area will preview starting June 29th, but the leading contenders are an expanded preview center for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or the France Pavilion expansion in Epcot. The latter is considered a contender as the expansion (minus the Ratatouille attraction) has been reported to be the next of the new areas to open.

Nightly, 9:15 pm showings of Happily Ever After.

The show times return to 8:55 pm (and progressively earlier times) when "Fall" begins on August 19th.

They used to be at 10. In my opinion the flow was better when the fireworks were at 10. At 10 it's late enough that many guests leave after the fireworks. 9:15 is pretty early to leave the park for most folks. We found the parks didn't empty out nearly as much after the 9:15 fireworks as it did back when they were at 10.
