Default Let's Talk Rumors, Shall We????

So, I have just returned, well a week ago, from a wonderful trip to Walt Disney World... I enjoyed the week I had with my father, and yes, I already have booked for May 2019... I booked even before I left for this trip... I haven't finished my trip reports, but I plan to... Just been pretty busy since I been back with work and a project I will discuss on here once I feel I am in a good place to talk about it... But for now, I do want to give you a few rumors I was able to overhear while in WDW... Some we talked about but I believe there is additional rumor information in some of these...

    1. Brazil is still coming to World Showcase, hopes are for the 40th but I don't know an exact time line... The pavilion will be sponsored by a large Brazilian company and will have an attraction... The rumored location for this pavilion: between German and Italy

    2. Staying in World Showcase: African Outpost is being looked at for possibly TWO countries, one being India... Rumors are the ride mechanism from Shanghai Disney Pirates of the Caribbean will be featured as the attraction mechanism here... Did not hear what the second country would be or which country would have the attraction, maybe both... And it depends which park(s) win out on which one gets the ride system...

    3. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has been given a fall 2019 opening time frame... Rumors are opening December 2019 due to falling behind in construction... I believe Disney wants this open sooner than the holiday season but if they cannot catch up, and they are trying, look for it to open right before an already over crowded Christmas week...

    4. Nothing new regarding Spaceship Earth, just that a refurb is planned and yes it will reopen after closing for 2 years... No idea if this winds up IP driven, with a new sponsor, or stays an original based on communication...

    5. Heard nothing new for Magic Kingdom... Nothing more about the theater begin re-greenlit, or if Disney plans on anything putting an E ticket in Adventureland once Tron opens....

That's all I can think of right now... If you have any questions, please ask.. If I can answer I will, and if I can't I will try to get an answer for you...
Son of Jor-El.. Kneel before Zod...

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Well, I guess December, 2019 will give me a chance to finally see the Christmas decorations. What theater in Magic Kingdom are you referring to?

I was looking at a map of where they are building Galaxy's Edge (trying to wrap my head around where it will be in relation to Star Tours). Will the entrance to the land be by Muppets or in Toy Story Land?

P.S. I'm really glad you had a wonderful trip with your father.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

The theater in the MK was put on hold? Hadn't heard that. I also hadn't heard that Spaceship Earth was going down for two years. Man, I'm out of it.

We went to WDW during Hurricane Irma last year, and we haven't been back. We also don't have any trips planned, other than some loose plans to take the family to Disneyland next fall. It'll be the first time I've been there since 1996, and only the 2nd time I've ever been there.

Since we don't have any concrete plans to go back for a number of years, I guess I haven't kept up on rumors. WDW could be a very different place by the time we return.

Next up - January 2023 short trip! We just want to try that 50th Anniversary chocolate monstrosity at Mexico!

The Main Street Theater... The theater was announced at D23 and then quickly forgotten as the budget for it was deemed to be better used elsewhere...

Look at the back of Toy Story Land, by Alien Swirling Saucers... That is one entrance... The other entrance is where Streets of America used to be, down behind Muppetvision... The big arches they built, that gateway.... is no where near Star Tours....

Thank you!!! We did have a great time... Especially THE VOID!!!!! Was fun, different, came out laughing... And the picture, I had to buy it...

Theater was more like cancelled as budget was used elsewhere... And yes Spaceship Earth is going to be closing for a 2 year refurb, but the dates are the confusing part... I heard 2021/2022... but others are hearing 2019/2020...

Unless they plan on expanding Adventureland outside of the berm, I really can’t imagine that they would put a new E-ticket attraction there. POTC and Jungle cruise are very popular, and have large capacities which the park operations folks like. Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Tiki Room and Aladdin’s Magic carpets all have small foot prints.

I'm assuming it is where the giant picture of Galaxy's Edge is on the fence/wall/whatever you call it. I took a picture of my DS in front of that picture by Muppetvision. I hope they keep the Muppet store though. I like the character of the shop, and they usually have stuff I don't see anywhere else. I guess Star Tours really isn't THAT far away from Galaxy's Edge but maybe it is far enough that the speeder photo spot won't be too overwhelmed. DS and I are planning a trip in Dec, 2019 (his 30th bday will be Dec. 14, 2019.) He doesn't think he will be too impressed with it, but any excuse will do.

The Void is awesome. We went through several times, because I had to get different combinations of people in the pictures. The only thing I didn't like about the Void is they charge you for tickets, and then they charge you an additional processing fee. I didn't notice that until we got home. It was like a $17 processing fee if I remember correctly.

Yep, that giant mural is going to be one of the entrances...

Fun fact they were looking to put a coaster into Adventureland, and believe it would have been a volcano coaster themed to Moana... Would have been placed behind the show building for Pirates... which is land designated as an expansion pad...

Fun fact #2: They did balloon height sight line testing in that space a few years ago...

They were going to retheme it to Tron but that was either cancelled or delayed until another time... I have no info or news on anything regarding bring in a newer fast car or anything but the track changing...
