From Land to Sea, there's 19 New Things to Plan for on a 2019 Vacation to Disneyland, Walt Disney World or aboard the Disney Cruise Line.

1-Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration

Starting January 18, 2019; the Magic Kingdom Park is honoring those true originals, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, now, more than ever with new entertainment, merchandise and specialty food and beverages. The new “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party” will parade up Main Street, U.S.A. several times daily, while you can meet Mickey and Minnie together – wearing their new birthday outfits – in Town Square Theater.

2- Adventures by Disney Short Escape


New in 2019, Adventures by Disney is offering pre-cruise guided experiences on select Disney Cruise Line sailings with the new “Short Escape” add-on. With add-on options in London, Rome, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Southern California and New York; these short escapes are the perfect addition to your cruise and allow you to become fully immersed in the destination, wherever it may be!

3- ‘Get Your Ears On’ Celebration

Starting in January 2019, Guests at Disneyland will be invited to the biggest celebration of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Disneyland history. Get Your Ears On will celebrate the beloved Mickey and Minnie, with exciting new entertainment and décor at Disneyland park. Specialty food, beverage, novelty items and merchandise will be available for a limited time, including “classic” Mickey- and Minnie-shaped foods with new festive twists, exclusive Get Your Ears On-themed treats, celebration apparel, pins, plush, and of course, Mickey and Minnie ears. As part of the celebration, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade returns on January 25, 2019 with a rockin’ new opening to kick off the party! Mickey Mouse will lead the way in a new larger-than-life opening, inspired by classic Mickey pull toys followed by Chip ‘n’ Dale will arrive with a giant celebration cake.

4-Pixar Avenue Party

Starting January 18, 2019; The Incredibles, will host a dance party at Pixar Avenue in Disney’s Hollywood Studios . This incredible party will also give a rare chance meet the one and only Edna Mode! Next door to Pixar Avenue, a new door to the monster world will open at Walt Disney Presents, where Mike and Sulley from Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.” will be greeting you.

5-Mickey’s Mix Magic

The night will light up at Disneyland park beginning January 18, 2019 with Mickey’s Mix Magic. This new high-energy projection show will celebrate Mickey Mouse by creating a family-fun dance party atmosphere throughout the park. State-of-the-art projections, lighting and lasers will transform Main Street, U.S.A., the water screens of the Rivers of America and the façade of “it’s a small world” into a colorful, dazzling array of sights and sounds, with “DJ” Mickey spinning dance-tastic twists on favorite Disney melodies. And on select nights, “Mickey’s Mix Magic” will go sky high when the show is enhanced with the addition of fireworks.

6-Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Walt Disney Pictures’ animated classic “The Lion King.” To mark this occasion, starting January 18, 2019; Rafiki and Timon will lead you in dances and games during the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party on Discovery Island in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

7-Mickey & Minnie’s Valentines Month

Celebrate the love of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at Disneyland park during Valentine’s month! From January 22 through February 18, 2019; Disneyland park will feature lovely, festive Valentine’s décor, including a new Mickey Mouse flower “portrait” on Main Street, U.S.A. Guests may also choose to partake in Minnie’s Valentine Surprise, a special scavenger hunt experience in Disneyland park. Once guests have purchased a commemorative map and stickers at select merchandise locations, they may search for the hidden valentines that Minnie has left for Mickey around the park.

8-Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

When Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy opens in Spring 2019 at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you’ll come face to face with racing legend Lightning McQueen, who will teach you about racing from his years of experience on the track. This will be the untold story of Lightning McQueen … as told by Lightning McQueen!

9-Still More to Explore at Disney Springs

Disney Springs will continue to add new experiences in the first half of 2019. Chef José Andrés will bring the spirit and flavors of Spain with his new Jaleo restaurant, opening Winter 2019. The tapas experience will offer a lively setting befitting its name, which means “revelry.” In Summer 2019, The NBA Experience will allow you to participate in your own scouting report, take you through pregame preparations and let you step onto the court to make clutch shots and highlight reel-worthy slam dunks.

10-30th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios

On May 1, 2019; the Walt Disney World Resort will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The park is honoring this achievement all year with a new 30th anniversary logo and other fun and excitement.

11-Wonderful World of Animation

A new cinematic nighttime experience will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios May 1, 2019. The Wonderful World of Animation will use state-of-the-art technology to take you on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation, all beginning with Mickey Mouse.

12-Gran Destino Tower


In Summer 2019, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will complete a total reimagining, including the new 15-story Gran Destino tower featuring a rooftop restaurant and 545 new guest rooms. A second new restaurant will be located on an island in the middle of the resort’s 14-acre lake, while all of its existing 1,800-plus rooms have been fully updated with new fixtures and furnishings.

13-Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Live your own Star Wars adventure on both coasts when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Summer 2019 at Disneyland park and Late Fall 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. At the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll explore Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, where you’ll find all manner of new sights, sounds, smells, tastes, characters and creatures from a galaxy far, far away. The twin lands will both feature two thrilling new attractions: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

14-Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Party at Sea

In summer of 2019, the celebration of the Mickey & Minnie’s 90th carries on at sea during 7-night sailings on the Disney Fantasy. During this brand-new deck party, you can join favorite Disney characters for fun in the sun as they celebrate Mickey’s 90th in style, complete with special costumes and a song made just for the occasion – “It’s a Good Time.”

15-Disney Skyliner

Walt Disney World’s Disney Skyliner will offer Tinker Bell views starting in Fall 2019 as Guests float in gondolas to either Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios on roundtrips from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort.

16-Disney’s Riviera Resort


The 15th Disney Vacation Club Resort is scheduled to open at the Walt Disney World resort in Late 2019. Disney’s Riviera Resort will reflect an elegant early 20th-century design, inspired by Walt Disney’s travels to the Mediterranean. The deluxe DVC resort is slated to offer approximately 300 family-friendly vacation home units.

17-Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Opening Late 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be the first ride-through attraction themed to Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. It will feature a new original story and lovable theme song, taking you on a journey inside the wacky and unpredictable world of Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts. New technologies will transform the two-dimensional cartoon world into an astounding multi-dimensional experience.

18-Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind


The colorful Inside Out Headquarters are on their way Disney California Adventure. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will make its debut in 2019 at the western end of Pixar Pier. This whimsical family-friendly attraction inspired by “Inside Out” will be—not surprisingly—full of emotions.

19-New Ports of Call


Throughout 2019, the Disney Cruise Line is giving Guests more chances than ever to sail out of San Diego, a collection of roundtrip sailings from Rome, and seven brand-new ports of call in Europe such as Stockholm, Sweden, Belfast, Northern Ireland and Cartagena, Spain.
