Default Major change to park hours - Sept 1 thru Nov 2

Disney has announced changes to park hours for the two months following the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Beginning September 1 and going through November 2, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open at 8am each morning. As an added bonus, both of these parks will have EMH from 7-8am every morning.

Disney's Hollywood Studios will open at 9am to the general public each day. Disney resort guests can take advantage of eEMH (extra, Extra Magic Hours) each day from 6am to 9am. SW:GE, Toy Story Land and "select other attractions" will be open during eEMH.

No changes to the Epcot hours are announced

Interesting that this might be how they try to manage the demand.

Of course, still time for them to announce a $299 per person Star Wars After Hours event.

I think it's an interesting plan. Keep DHS open until 10p for everyone, and give resort guests a 3 hour head start each day. At the same time, don't drive ALL the resort guests to DHS, by doing a 7am EMH at two other parks. It could work to distribute the load and at the same time give resort guests a reasonable shot at a decent experience.

I'm with you on the After Hours events: they haven't precluded that from happening.

I guess we'll find out. We'll be there right in the middle of that time frame. Sep 21 - Oct 3.

I love the idea of EMH running 3hrs in the morning instead of the evening. I think that's overdue.

I wonder if this is going to make it next to impossible for off-property guests to get to experience SW Galaxy's Edge. I can imagine that a 6am-9am head-start is going to produce a very long queue to get in for anyone not able to take advantage of EMH.

I really think they need to have 'normal' opening hours set to 8am, like DisneyLand, and THEN offer the EMH prior to that. That extra hour daily made a heck of a difference when I visited DL a few years back.

(Of course, part of that was being an East Coaster, so that still was like 10am to me!! LOL)

I'm a big rope drop fan usually. When it's at 8 or 9. I'm not sure I can get any member of our family up and ready and waiting for a 6 or 7am rope drop It makes me a little sad because I love my early empty mornings in the parks.

Empty mornings? Those days are over. Its going to look like the Braveheart open field battle scene.

I'm sure that less people get up for the morning hours, than for evening hours, which will naturally help with crowds. But, let's be honest, NOTHING is going to help, it is going to be chaos.

They'll use stormtroopers to control the over-crowding.

That won't help. Everyone knows stormtroopers can't hit what they are aiming at.

Stormtrooper and Red Shirt get into a fire fight. Stormtrooper misses; Red Shirt dies anyway.

Would be nice if Epcot's hours changed. They've been on this 9 - 7 FW / 11 - 9 WS thing for a long time now. So long that a lot of people don't realize it wasn't always that way.

So, are they going to have breakfast earlier at the resorts? Also, then they really do need to offer more breakfast offerings. Going to be mighty cranky by 11am. I'll be hawking parts for food rations. That might be the real Star Wars experience.

That is a great point. eEMH at 6 AM, when nothing at the resort opens before 6 AM, means people have to brown bag that breakfast or go without.

They don't have much now, to even open for breakfast. Also means if I don't want to hit the parks at 0 dark thirty, then its going to be swamped by 9ish already.
