6/2/19 The Walt Disney World on-line reservation system has recently expanded into several experience based activities. Guests may now book experiences at the Magic Kingdom’s Harmony Barber Shop, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Pirates League on disneyworld.disney.go.com.

6/2/19 There’s a new spot for craft, handmade ice cream in Disney Springs just in time for Summer. The Basket at Wine Bar George currently features several artisanal flavors including Chocolate Bacon, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Bourbon, Sorghum Black Pepper, and Coconut Avocado. These unique flavors are priced at $3.00 for a scoop.

Lighting the Night

6/2/19 The Edison is illuminating select Summer nights with some Havana heat. The Disney Springs restaurant and club kicked off its "Havana Nights" event on May 29th. The event will continue on June 12, June 26, July 10, July 24, August 7, August 21, September 4, September 18, October 2, and October 16, 2019. The event features a five piece band, complimentary Salsa lessons, and themed craft cocktails.

An Uncommon Commissary

6/2/19 The ABC Commissary restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has completed a refurbishment with a new look. In addition to new carpeting, seating, and tables; the dinning spot features new self-serve beverage stations.

Café Closedown

6/2/19 A Disney Springs Westside staple appears to be closing in 2019. Bongo’s Cuban Café has internally announced that they will not be renewing their lease with Disney Springs when it expires later in 2019. Although a public announcement has yet to be made, it has been reported that the location is moving down the state to the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood Beach, Florida.

Dole Whip with a Twist

6/2/19 Following in the tropical footsteps of the Heart of Te Fiti Dole Whip, Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has introduced another exclusive Dole Whip. This one is a bit of a twist, literally and figuratively. The new Lemon–Lime Swirl Dole Whip is a “secret menu” item priced at $4.99.

Shopping Shake-Up

6/2/19 Another store has joined the growing list of Hollywood Shopping spots closing for major renovations. Mickey’s of Hollywood on Hollywood Blvd in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed on May 14th for a multi-month renovation. Mickey’s of Hollywood, Keystone Clotheirs, and Legends of Hollywood are all slated to re-open from their refurbishments in September 2019. We may have to wait until Fall to find out the reason for these lengthy (by store standards) refurbishments, but most reports now indicate is to provide more open floor plans for expected crowd increases rather than re-theming or re-purposing.

3/15/19 Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues to makes changes to several retail locations. To complete the previously announced expansion into the former Planet Hollywood Super Store location, Legends of Hollywood has closed for a multi-month refurbishment. Keystone Clothiers on Hollywood Blvd has also closed for a multi-month refurbishment. With both projects slated to re-open in Summer 2019; it is speculated that they are tied to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in either new store content or more open layouts to better accommodate larger crowds.

2/3/19 Sunset Blvd. at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has had some significant shop switches in recent years. After the total replacement of its two corner stores, change is making its way further down the boulevard. The Planet Hollywood Super Store closed on February 2, 2019. The next door Legends of Hollywood is reportedly planned to expand into the former location.

6/2/19 The Walt Disney World resort has added more dates for the Disney After Hours event at the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Tickets are now on sales for the following dates:
