Annual Pass
My husband and I recently became DVC members. We are not going until November 2020 but I would like to purchase our annual passes now. Is it possible to purchase them this far in advance? Do they start on the 1st day we use them and then expire 1 year from that day? How does pickup work? My daughter might want to go for her birthday in September so I would order her an annual pass as well but we will not be with her to pick up her ticket and I read the DVC member has to be the one picking up the pass.

You can purchase your Annual Pass at any time, but I believe there is a time limit as to when you have to activate them. Your "year" does not 'start' until the first time you use them to enter a park, not the date of purchase.

The time limit is LONG. We purchased ours about two months ago, with the plan to use them in May. And then, of course, the next week COVID-19 started getting bad and everything was shut down. According to My Disney Experience when I log in, I have until 2030 to activate the passes. Yep. Ten years. Of course, once they're activated (the first time we enter a park), they're good for one year.
