Default 2021 Resort Reservations (holy expensive!)

I know this will change, and prices will sort out a bit, but I took a look (before contacting the amazing Debbie at Magical Journeys) to see what 2021 is looking like, since we were hoping for a May trip.

Well, I'm shocked. Pop/AoA at the $200/night level and OKW at $450 ... the others are more. Even a FW Cabin is $445! A little much for what we were hoping for, maybe we've been spoiled the past number of trips at POFQ?

Anyone else looking to 2021? Have you booked?

I was wondering if they would try to jack the rates up. Plus there probably will not be any specials or incentives to lower prices that have become common place. The bean counters have had it good for a long time and could raise prices anytime and bring in record revenue and profit. Now Covid 19 came along and just blew them out of the water. With such smaller crowd levels, there is no way for them to cover the losses but they will give it their best shot.

I wouldn't pay $50 a night to stay in one of the value resorts....hate them with a passion. I sure as heck won't pay $450 a night for a moderate either. I guess there is little chance of me going anytime in the next year or two. I will never go as long as they expect me to wear a mask in the parks....not happening. I'm not paying exorbitant rates either so that is a double whammy. lol

Yep, looks like they're trying to make up some revenue and keep the numbers of guests down. We booked for late January and the prices are definitely higher. We're staying at Caribbean Beach for about $300/night.

Supply and demand I guess - capacity is down so room rates go up - park passes are next I bet...

My friend and I decided that this wouldn't be the best time to take his kids for their first trip. That takes a lot of stress off of me - higher prices, no guarantee you'll get in the park, less offerings for more money. Doesn't sound like a fun time.

I might try and go while my kids and I are in Florida for the cruise in January just to see how things are working out. It will be easier to test it out with full grown kids than with a 7 and 9 year old.

I booked 2 rooms 6 nights at Pop Century for May 2021 for the cost of $2,632.50 standard rooms. Add the price of park tickets (5 days) about $2,00.00 1 park per day then add airfare. I am planning around $6,000.00 not counting food and spending money. I think this may be the last trip to Disney. So sad really...

I forgot to state how many people the cost is for.

Yes The prices have been going up and up. Now they've cut out a lot of stuff in the name of Covid but haven't dropped the prices.

That involves work on my part. I am working 6 twelve hour shifts a week. I don't want to do anything remotely resembling work when I go on vacation. I may not even want to do the work of walking to the bathroom. I'll have to hire someone to carry me. :P

We are going to postpone our March 2021 trip. Don't think we are ready for WDW just yet. Hopefully a vaccine will be developed and distributed and we'll feel better about going. Hope to make new plans for December of 2021. Fingers crossed!

We decided on an August 2021 Disney cruise, knowing there is only about a 50/50 chance of actually going. Less if I have to factor in the impact of sharknado.

We are booked for October of this year and paid $190 a night, but they have since offered discounts for that timeframe and we actually received a pin code for $115 a night and were able to apply it to our existing reservation. I think Disney is kind of feeling their way through all of this. Plus we have to remember all of the cost of running the business is still there for them with not as much income coming in to balance it out. If bookings are still light they will offer discounts.

Prices are going to be sky-high. To go on vacation with children, gain impressions, save and save more. You won't go for a day, at least for a week. In general, I want to see what the situation will be by the middle of winter, because if everything is quarantined again, it will be a complete mess.
