    Default Das

So, I guess this is the right place. We are planning a vacation to the world and my parents both are older in age and have mobility issues. My question is, how does the DAS work in this new time with limited capacities and no fast passes? I have tried finding it on the WDW website, but it only lists information pre-Covid.I appreciate the help.

From everything I've read and understand, there are no meaningful changes. You will likely need to use DAS less than before since lines are (generally) a lot shorter than usual. But the processes is still the same and a quick reminder that DAS isn't issues for mobility issues, so if mobility or stamina is an issue I strongly recommend looking to renting an ECV or wheelchair.

This seems like a strange statement. Why wouldn't it be for mobility or stamina disabilities? I can tell you that personally I was glad when I could finally be out of a wheelchair. You couldn't drag me back into one with wild horses.

Actually, it is also available for those who have mobility issues. We have used it before, with mobility issues. Both of my parents either bring or rent scooters while there and on our last trip, my wife had to use a scooter for mobility issues because of her knee. Every time we have gone with DAS. Previously, (pre-covid), they would tell you a time to return through the fast pass line. I know the website says they don't need one, but for those who have had to deal with it based on mobility, know that it is a pain for some of the rides.

I know there are those who abuse this wonderful service, and it may sound like we are trying to do that, but honestly, we are not.

Anyone who needs to wait outside of the regular lines can be granted a DAS. It hasn't been my experience that if mobility is your ONLY need that a DAS will be given (or is needed), since the lines are accessible. For the few that aren't, there are alternative solutions (like getting a return time from Jungle Curise) that don't require a DAS. Personal experiences will vary, but I don't want anyone counting on getting a DAS for a mobility issue, pre-during-or-post covid.

Since there seems to be some confusion about this. Straight from the Disney Parks blog site FAQs about the DAS.

Does a Guest whose disability is based on the necessity to use a wheelchair or scooter need DAS?
No, a Guest whose disability is based on the necessity to use a wheelchair or scooter does not need DAS. Depending on the attraction, the Guest will either wait in the standard queue or receive a return time at the attraction based on the current wait time.

Can't you just tell them you meet the criteria? Bring your own paperwork.
