Default Magic vs. Wonder

We just got back from a 3 night cruise on the Wonder. We've gone on 2 previous cruises on the Magic. We noticed some differences between the two.
  1. Boat noise. On the Magic, we stayed in room 1049, with little to no noise. On the Wonder we stayed in room 1065 and it had considerable mechanical noise - twice the volume of an alarm clock. A sustained hum lasting 10 seconds and at least once an hour (when docking more). We didn't complain, but should have.
  2. Door transitions. On the Magic, they were smooth, on the Wonder, they were very high and we had to remember to step over in order not to trip.
  3. Gangway access. On the Magic, we were allowed to exit the ship off our floor (deck 1). On the Wonder, they made us go up to the second floor, then walk over to the aft or bow and then down to the first floor. A big disappointment as we picked the first floor assuming they would allow us access as the Magic did.

Just curious if any of you observed any differences. I assumed things would be the same on both - but they weren't.

On our first DCL cruise, we were in 1062 on Magic.

There was a small amount of mechanical noise, apparently coming from the engine/machinery rooms below us, but it was barely noticeable and definitely not on a regular basis like you described.

1062 had a very definite "step" to enter the room. I almost did very ungraceful face plants several times when I forgot there was a lip to the doorway.

I don't understand why they made you go up to the 2nd deck then back down. We always were allowed to go directly to the gangway. But that was almosat five years ago; I suppose some of their procedures have changed over the years.

If you were on the Magic, I agree that the noise and exiting off floor one worked. It was on the Wonder that the noise was really bad and we had to exit via floor 2 then down to floor 1.

Strange, isn't it?

I have been on the Wonder twice with the last time being a year ago. We didn't have any noise problems or the gangway exit problems that you had.

Lucky me! But it was real and makes me reconsider for future bookings.....

Were you staying on the same floor and staterooms?
