Unhappy 4 weeks to go, and I don't feel prepared...help!

I have been overwhelmed with my grad. school classload this semester, plus regular work, plus being a single mom, plus life stressors, etc.

Long story short, I just realized we leave 4 weeeks from today, and I feel totally unprepared.

We have all our PS done (did that long ago at the 90 day mark). I have tickets at will call for MVMCP. I am paid in full with MJ/WDWTravel (thanks, Melissa).

Why do I feel like there is so much I haven't done or need to be doing? Help!

This isn't our first trip, but it is my first trip as a single mom.

Any suggestions would be great!

Sounds like you've got it covered. Do you have airline tickets or are you driving?

Been there done that for a number of years. Then I realized something...They have stores in Florida too. If I forget something I can buy it.

My only suggesting is that you get some "reservations" where you want to eat. The last time we were there it was miserable if you didn't have ressies.

Pick up some Purell washer/dryer sheets...these will be great if you should need to do laundry. All you do is throw them in the wash they have both soap and softner then toss them in the dryer they do that too. GREAT for travel.

Once you have your dining reservations, tickets and hotel. You're pretty well set to go.

First of all... HOORAY for you!! I'm glad you get to go so soon... we'll be following 2 days after you (: Something I always find helpful before hand is deciding which park we'll likely do on which day- based on park hours, EMH, MVMCP, Fantasmic, etc. The more of that stuff I can decide ahead of time means I just get to go on auto-pilot when there and don't have to be in plan-mode. I'm guessing that would be helpful since you'll be single parenting. I like to ask our kids what they REALLY want to make sure we do in each park, then can make a loose schedule or plan-of-attack accordingly. HAVE FUN!!

Unhappy

I do have all my dining PS's made...I need to modify because my ex boyfriend was supposed to go with us, but he decided he didnt want to go, but we have also parted ways since then...that's another story for another day.

So, I need to reschedule our PS from party of 3 down to party of 2.

I have CP seating times, also...forgot to mention that.

Also, I need to survive two more tests, and one more assignment, and the semester will be over. Hanging on to two "A's", while juggling a 7 year old, a full-time job, and iffy economy is tough!

I need this vacation!

I can so relate. I'm overwhelmed with grad school right now (2 more presentations, 2 papers, a comprehensive exam I have to pass to graduated next semester, and finals in the next 4 weeks), and I'm holding down a full time job. I have a 5 month old, but I'm not a single parent, and we're going to Disney the day before you leave. It's hard juggling everything with help, so I can't imagine how much harder it is without help.

If you're vacation is stressing you out that much, then you really need to sit back and take some deep breaths. It sounds like all you have left to do is pack, so it's all good.

The OP said she had PS which stands for Priority Seating that is what it was called before they switched it to ADR. Don't feel bad it took me a second to remember what PS stood for, i havent heard it used in a while.

Question, where do you buy the soap/dryer sheets i have never seen them before

Just bought those Purex laundry sheets myself for our trip. Got them at the food store in with all of the other detergent.
Hope it works as good as it sounds!! On sale ran about $5

Relax- a few years ago, we scheduled a trip with just six weeks notice- and I am used to planning for a year ahead. It was also a terribly stressful time in my life- lots of things outside of my control were converging to make me a very stressed individual! Anyway- I had to remind myself to keep stepping back from my Type A personality and just let things happen...It's WDW for crying out loud- no way NOT to have a good time! You've got the major things covered...just let the rest happen. My partner loved seeing me more relaxed than usual- (in fact I think it confused her a bit- she was so used to the "old" me!) Just remember to let the magic happen. I am sure you'll have a fantastic time!

Didn't catch if you were flying or not. Do you need ID for your child?..
Have fun! Make some memories! Enjoy the undivided attention.

No...we are driving. It is only 8 hours in the car.

Which reminds me that I do need to borrow a portable DVD player from someone...

Default 4 weeks to go, and I don't feel prepared...help!

Hi Mary - You are awesome! Very organized and strong. I have been to Disney during stressful times in the past and what can I say...all is good. You will have a great time. I admire how you are managing so much at this time in your life. You deserve a Disney break! Enjoy and what a great opportunity to make some special memories with your child.

All I can say is to take a deep breathe and realize you will be there in 4 weeks. It sounds like you have everything taken care of.

My advice is don't stress the small things because a stressful trip is an unenjoyable trip. Trust me. I dropped almost $5000 on my last trip and it was a miserable 6 days. Not because of WDW or anything there, but external factors that really prevented me from enjoying it. It was a complete waste of money to me. I think I would have been more happy to have not gone. So, relax, sit back, double check your "to-do" list now, make a schedule of when you need to get those done.
