    Default Disney World Wedding Cancelled

Unfortunately, the groom's grandparents aren't expected to make it. Grandmother became unresponsive a few days ago, and as the Grandfather was going to sign her DNR, he had a major stroke. Groom's father is the only child involved with the grandparents, so he has to bear the expense and stress of two out of state funerals, dealing with belongings, etc. If the grandfather makes it, they are bringing him to Arizona to live with them. They left Arizona yesterday to drive to Kentucky and be at the bedside. DD and her fiance decided to move the wedding closer to home and put the planning on hold for now to reduce the stress and so that his family can afford to attend.

We are still going to do a family reunion trip during the same time frame. We will just have to find a theme other than Supercalifriendsandfamilyweddingbirthdayocious.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I am so sorry. What a difficult time! Sending prayers of strength and comfort to the whole family.

It is great that you're going ahead with the trip, with give DD and her finance something to look forward to ... even if you need a new theme.

I'm so sorry to hear that, sending prayers for all.

I know how much planning you had done, hopefully a lot of it can remain in place.

That's a tough one. Well, maybe the getaway later will be of some benefit at that point.

It will definitely be something to brighten up their days in the future. I told DD the option to do a Disney wedding later is still out there if that is what she decides to do when they start planning again or perhaps move it to Disneyland. I think it will put a smile on their faces again when the loss isn't so fresh. Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry. It's never easy to have to walk that road.
Many years ago, our son was engaged to be married. He lived in Orlando at the time and family all lived in the Pacific Northwest. It wasn't a Disney wedding, but our family booked rooms at Disney and bought tickets and made it a part of the time of celebration. Unfortunately the wedding was called off two weeks before. it was devastating but we decided to all go anyway. It was a wonderful trip, considering, and it brought us so much closer together as a family. One of our sons who had pretty much walked away from us said that going reminded him of growing up and the times we had gone to Disney and how much he really did love his family and those memories!
Praying for your family right now and believing that all things will work together for good!
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow!

So very sorry to read this. My thoughts are with your daughters' future in laws during this difficult time. I hope that you are able to have a relaxing Honeymoon/reunion trip in the near future.

Update - The grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon. The grandfather is stabilizing - a little light in a dark situation. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.

The bride is my daughter. It's the groom's grandparents that are having the medical problems.
