Pets are not
permitted in the Disney Parks or Disney Resorts with the exception of
service dogs and
certain campsites at Fort Wilderness. If you plan on bringing your pet
along with you on vacation, Disney has 5 air-conditioned kennels which are members of the American Boarding Kennel
Association.
Beginning January 10, 2008, the Walt Disney
World Resort will transition its kennel operations to an industry
expert, Best Friends PetCare Inc. Best Friends is a national provider
of pet hospitality in the United States, with 44 locations in 18
states.
Locations:
Effective 1/10/08, the Transportation and Ticket
Center & Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Locations will institute
new prices and policies.
New Prices: Day Use - $15, Overnight - Day Guest $20 , Overnight -
Resort Guest $18.
New Policies: 2 potty walks per day and up to 2 feedings per day will
be included in the rates.
Effective 1/24/08, the Epcot Location will institute new prices and
policies.
New Prices: Day Use - $15, Overnight - Day Guest $20 , Overnight -
Resort Guest $13 .
New Policies: 2 potty walks per day and up to 2 feedings per day will
be included in the rates.
Effective 2/7/08, the Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal
Kingdom Locations will operate under new management, but will continue
operating at the previous prices and polices.
Prices: Day Use $10, Overnight - Day Guest $15 , Overnight - Resort
Guest $18.
Policies: Guest will continue to feed and walk their pet.
Best Friends is slated to build and operate a full-service pet
"resort" at the Walt Disney World Resort expected to open in mid-2009.
The luxury pet "resort" will cater to park and resort Guests and will
provide a full range of pet hospitality services.
Kennels are operated
on a first come first served basis. No reservations are accepted. No
native wildlife or exotic species are allowed in the kennels.
Prior to
boarding, all Guests are required to show records of vaccination (for
dogs: Rabies, Parvovirus, D.H.P. and Bordetella; for cats: Rabies,
Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitus and Calcivirus)
