Starting October 1st 2006, Disney Vacation Destinations around the globe are kicking off the Year of A Million Dreams. This brand new global promotion celebrates the countless Dreams that the Walt Disney Company has brought to life for over 50 years with its Theme Park resorts. Additionally, this promotion will help grant more than a Million new Dreams through the “Disney Dream Giveaway”. The excitement will take place at Disney Theme Park Resorts in California, Florida, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong as well as on board the Disney Cruiseline, at Disney Vacation Club properties and on Adventures by Disney.

The heart of the celebration will be at the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort where the Year of A Million Dreams will ring in a total of 5 brand new attractions and a dazzling cavalcade of new Entertainment offerings. In this edition of the Insider we’re going to highlight these brand new attractions and entertainment and take a closer look at how exactly Disney is going to grant over a million Dreams to its guests. So with out further adieu—it’s Insider time!

From October 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007, a grand total of 1,250,000 Dreams will be granted to guests of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts.  Each day, during the Disney Dreams Giveaway, a minimum of a 1,551 Dreams will be granted across the theme parks, water parks and retail districts of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts.  Between property opening and 5:00 pm local time, “Dream Squads” will descend upon the resorts and randomly grant Dreams to unsuspecting guests.  The Dreams range from big to small so lets take a look at the whole list of Dreams being given away.

- Dream Big-
During the Disney Dreams Giveaway guests may be taped on the shoulder and have one of their biggest dreams come true—if that dream happens to be vacation related.  The Disney Dreams Giveaway will grant 60 vacation related Dreams including:

§         Three Memberships in the Disney Vacation Club

§         Three “Grand Marshal World Tours” for four on a 15 day/14 night trip touring the Disneyland® Park, Disney's California Adventure® Park, Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, Disneyland® Resort Paris, Walt Disney Studios® Paris, Tokyo Disneyland® Resort, Tokyo Disney Sea® Park, and Hong Kong Disneyland® Resort.

Lucky guests may have sweet dreams while living out the dream of staying the night in a castle or a cartoon penthouse.  The Disney Dreams Giveaway will grant 674 accommodation related Dreams including:

§         367 One-Night Stays in the Mickey Mouse Penthouse for six at the Disneyland resort starting Early December 2006

§         307 One-Night Stays in the Cinderella Castle Suite for six at the Walt Disney World resort starting Late January 2007

From special events, to meals, to extra hours in the parks there are some Dreams only Disney could make come true.  The Disney Dreams Giveaway will grant 530,477 Disney Experience related Dreams including:

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a vacation so special, and guests may find out just how special when they receive free limited edition merchandise.  The Disney Dreams Giveaway will grant 718,789 Merchandise related Dreams including:

§         418,789 “Year of a Million Dreams” Pin and Lanyard Sets

§         250,000 Special Edition “Dream” Mouse Ears

§         50,000 “Where Dreams Come True” Photo Packages

In addition to granting this mountain of Dreams, the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts are expanding their Magical Moments program.  The Magical Moments program creates special moments for guests through a variety of giveaways and experiences and during the Year of A Million Dreams its going to be bigger and better than ever!

The Year of A Million Dreams will help guests Dreams come true by adding 3 new attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort and 2 new attractions at the Disneyland Resort.

Nemo’s UnderSea Adventure
-Opening Late October 2006 at Epcot-
In the newly re-chrisnted The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion, guests will plunge into the fun of this undersea spectacle. Guests go along for the ride as Nemo and friends continue their adventure from the Disney|Pixar smash hit film, "Finding Nemo." Be dazzled by whimsical Disney magic as one of the world's largest salt-water aquaria becomes home to a hilarious adventure and one giant whopper of a fish story.

Finding Nemo - the Musical
-Opening Mid November 2006 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom-
The newly renovated Theater in the Wild will immerse guests in a whole new wave of entertainment. This all-new Broadway-style musical "seastravaganza" stars beloved characters from the Disney|Pixar sensation, "Finding Nemo." It's a heartwarming journey filled with imaginative puppets, dazzling dancers, amazing acrobats, awesome animated backdrops, fin-stomping music and a sea of surprises.

The Laugh Floor Comedy Club
-Opening Late January 2007 at The Magic Kingdom-
Open the door to this Tommorowland nightclub and you’ll open a door to laughter, songs and electric wit. Guests will laugh along with animated characters from the DisneyÏPixar hit film, "Monsters, Inc." Hosted by the singularly talented, one-eyed Master of Ceremonies, Mike, you'll be "won" over by this one-of-a-kind attraction. Get right in the middle of the action for monster laughs that will generate enough electricity to light up Monstropolis.

Rockin' Space Mountain
-Opening Spring 2007 at The Disneyland Park-
Space Mountain is getting a new twist. Thanks to new lighting and technology, Disney's classic attraction will become a new experience in which rockets will rock it through the greatest concert in the universe. An all-new soundtrack will fit the exciting twists and turns of Disney's rocket classic.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
-Opening Summer 2007 at The Disneyland Park-
Guests will dive into a frolicking, fun fishy undersea excursion. Journey through an amazing aquatic world as you meet beloved colorful characters from the Disney|Pixar sensation, "Finding Nemo." Go on a quest with Nemo, his dad, Marlin, and their friends Dora, Gill and Peach in this all-new, one-of-a-kind E-ticket submarine voyage.

Welcome In preparation of the Year of A Million Dreams, the Share a Dream Come True parade was magical transformed into the Disney Dreams Come True parade on August 10, 2006. The new incarnation of the parade contains revised floats, a new soundtrack and expanded character line-up. Recently, INTERCOT’s own Piglet822 took in the new parade and provided the following review and pictorial:

"I recently viewed the Disney Dreams Come True Parade with a group of people; myself, plus my grandma, mom and dad, and 2 young children. The music was rather upbeat and enjoyable--I know it brought a smile to my face. I found it was very similar to the former parade, but as long as you have a love for Disney I think everyone would enjoy the parade."

The Magic Kingdom is at the heart of the Year of A Million Dreams, and to keep the life-flow of the Dreams going it is introducing five new entertainment offerings. A New Castle Forecourt show, a new parade and three new “street” shows will all help guests Dreams come true. The Insider has reviewed recent comments on the boards in anticipation of these new offerings and has complied a countdown of the New Magic Kingdom Entertainment Offerings.

Coming in at number 5 … Woody's Cowboy Camp
Round up your posse for some rootin'-tootin', straight-shootin' good times with Woody, Jesse and Bullseye at Woody's Cowboy Camp. Sam the Singin' Cowboy leads a western hoedown that rings out across the prairie. Head on out to Frontierland for some singin', dancin' and general kickin' up your heels. Yee-haw!

Coming in at number 4 … Main Street Family Fun Day Parade
Parade your red, white and blue spirit down the heart of Main Street, U.S.A. as you join the celebration. For the very first time, Guests are invited to perform in a Parade alongside Pluto, Daisy Duck, Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow, Chip, and Dale! Things really kick into high gear when the fun arrives at Town Square when guests are invited to join in sinning Yankee Doodle Dandy. It's flag-waving, patriotic fun and you could be the star.

Coming in at number 3 … The Happily Ever After Party
"Merry Maker" Simon and Ball Organizer “Belinda” lead guests through a Royal Ball filled with fun and games. Guests participate in an “Under The Sea” Conga Line, Royal Freeze Tag, and Simon Says (lead of course by Simon). The ball comes to a finale when guests are invited to join in a Royal Waltz. During the waltz, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip join-in and mingle with the guests.

Coming in at number 2 … Dream Along With Mickey
In this brand new Castle Forecourt show guests are invited to dream along with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Snow White and The Prince, Princess Aurora and Prince Philip, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. Maleficent has other plans in store for these dreamers, will Mickey and his friends be able to triumph?

And coming in at number 1 … High School Musical Pep Rally
Catch Wildcat fever! Cheer the interactive fun as school spirit overtakes you when you join in this awesome pep rally. East High cheerleaders and basketball stars lead the fun as you learn cheers and cool dance moves. Jam to the hottest tracks from the wildly popular Disney Channel movie and then strut your stuff to the super-charged musical finale.
That’s it for the countdown, hope it’s gotten you excited for the new entertainment offerings at the Magic Kingdom just now getting underway. Disneyland has not left themselves out of the fun either, there are debuting their own line of entertainment for the Year of A Million Dreams too!

Phew! With all these happenings for the Year of A Million Dreams we just barley crammed it all into one issue. For guests traveling during the first few weeks of the promotion, keep in mind that all of the Magic Kingdom entertainment will be in full swing as of 10/1 and Nemo’s UnderSea Adventure will be conducting Annual Pass Holder and Disney Vacation Club previews 10/13-10/15.
