Boy Dies After Riding Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

A 12-year-old boy died today after riding Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney-MGM Studios. Officials said, the boy was declared dead in route to Celebration Hospital after the 11:30 a.m. incident. His name has not been released. Disney World officials said they closed the attraction "pending an investigation," but added that an "initial review of the attraction shows the ride was operating normally". The indoor coaster opened in 1999 and takes guests through a make-believe night in a 24-passenger stretch limo. The ride climbs to 85 feet and goes by Hollywood landmarks on its way through five inversions.

Parks Fill the Sky With Fireworks  on July 4th

On the fourth of July, Disney-MGM Studios will join in the evening fireworks fun with a special holiday show prior to Fantasmic!. Magic Kingdom will treat guests to the famous "Fantasy in the Sky" display with patriotic music and "bombs bursting in air".  And Epcot will present its acclaimed "IllumiNations" show with a special holiday finale. The special nighttime shows are included with theme park admission.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-Play It! Closing

It has been reported internally, at Disney, that "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-Play It! will be closing its doors for good in August, 2006. Current rumors are circulating that a Toy Story interactive ride is slated to take over the space left occupied by Millionaire. “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire-Play It!” debuted in April 2001 and is based on the once popular TV game show. Disney Announces "Year of a Million Dreams"

This October Disney will launch the "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration.  The year-long event will feature the debut of an incredible lineup of new attractions and entertainment at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts.
