To help you with the transition to the new INTERCOT Discussion Boards, here are
a few useful tips and things to do once you are ready to start posting. We'll
keep adding to this list as issues arise.
Why Can't I Log On... My Login Won't Work!
Those of you who used a separate login ID's and user name's will now use your
USER NAME only to log in. There are no longer two separate ID's. Your password
has not changed.
My Signature File Looks Funny...
Much of the code used previously in the old discussion board signatures does not
work in the new boards. You will need to update your signature file to fix this.
My Profile Is Messed Up...
Once you log in for the first time, check out the User CP and update all of your
profile. Please keep your information up to date (especially your contact
information). Should we need to contact you and your email address not work,
your account will be locked until you contact us.
Why Are The Post Times Weird?
While you are in your profile, be sure to set your time zone to the region you
live in.
What Happened To My Avatar?
As part of the upgrade, we completely redid all the avatars and upgraded them to
the new 80x80 pixel size. We added Disney, Non-Disney and Holiday categories.
Also, many new smileys were added for your posting pleasure!
Where are the Icons to Private Message, Email, View Homepages or Profiles for
other Users?
We are no longer using icons for those functions. The new boards have the
features hidden via a drop down bar. To access all of those options simply click
on the user’s name in their post. A drop down bar will appear offering you the
options to; “View Public Profile”, “Send a Private Message”, “Find all posts by
user” or “Add the user to your buddy list”. Your own private messages can be
accessed by clicking the link in the upper left-hand corner of the main forum
page. As with the old boards you can still utilize the option of email
notifications.
It says the last time I visited was Dec.31 1969 - I wasn't even alive then!
This is a result of the import process from our old discussion boards. Once you sign in, then leave and come back again, the last time visited field will update.
