We are a family of 6 and are planning our next trip. We were thinking of getting two rooms at a value or a moderate. Do they have connecting rooms? Are they guaranteed? Thanks for any info.

Yes, all the resorts have a certain number of connecting rooms. Unfortunately, they cannot be guaranteed, only requested.
While they can't be guaranteed, they will certainly make sure you're not separated from young children!
We are a family of 6 with 4 young children (1-8 yrs) and were guarenteed connecting rooms at POP. It even says so on our confirmation. Good luck.
This subject comes up every couple of months and typically, there is no issue with connecting, especially at the values. It has been reported by resort CM's that nothing is truly "guaranteed" though and that's backed up in Disney's fine print. I only know of a few occassions, when connecting room requests weren't able to be honored. It's very rare, but can happen.
Sent you a private message...map of the rooms...there are kings attached to two doubles at the Pop.
Have you thought of the Wilderness cabins? They sleep large families, and are a guaranteed way to all be together!
We had connecting rooms when we stayed at POFQ. However, we did not have them when we stayed at AKL. But that was due to the fact that for some reason, they put us in a smoking room (I had requested non-smoking). So they had to put us in new rooms. They were next to each other; just not connecting. The smoking rooms were connected.
