I LOVE the mini golf in Disney. It's so much fun, especially at night with the lights on, plus it's usually cooler at night.
My personal favorite is the Fantasia course. I think it's a much prettier course and the themeing is great. However via Disney Transportation this is a little more difficult to get to.
For easier transporation and two courses right next to each other I would advise the Summer and Winterland courses by Blizzard Beach.
Winter Summerland was a bit run-down when we were there two years ago. A couple of the "features" weren't working and the whole place looked rough. Also, the employees were not what you're used to at WDW. That being said, we still had a pretty fun time there and found it an enjoyable, low-key way to spend an afternoon. Knowing what I know now, I would probably recommend the Fantasia Gardens course because I have read that it is nicely maintained and more elaborate. There are two courses there, I think. One for older kids, and one for younger kids.
Have fun!
We went to Fantasia mini-golf in Mid August. When we got there at 8:30pm, there was an "hour" wait, and we were told it takes 1 1/2 hours to do the course-- so we left.
We found out that you can stop by earlier in the day and make a "tee-time" for later.
We have done the Fantasia course in December and were the only people there (which was great since DS was 3 at the time and a little slow). It is definitely worth it to play a round! :thumbsup:
We haven't yet tried it, but it is on our to do list for our upcoming trip.... 13 days & counting:here:
I've played at all 3 courses and would recommend them. Your small children might get a real kick out of the Winter/Summerland themed courses. They are all about Christmas and Santa Claus.
We had a great time at Winter Summerland last December. The Christmas theme was a great continuation of the holiday spirit at that time. No wait, no line. We did the "sand" Santa on Vacation course and my DD7 thought it was a blast. It didn't seem run down at all to my eyes. And the ladies working at the window were very sweet, they gave us each a free Goofy golf ball and a bunch of mini-multi colored Sharpie markers, for some reason, when we were done.
We are planning on going back and doing the "snow" course this trip.
:thumbsup::mickey:
I've done both Mini golfs. They are both well done. Fantasia is highly recommended, but being close to Christmas, you may appreciate the Winter Summerland Courses. Either way you cant go wrong.
We went on our 2003 trip when we had a free voucher...we did the Winterland golf and it was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the parks...I think there was only one other family there and they showed up half way into our game...if you have an extra day I would do it.:mickey:
We played at both courses on our April trip last year. I enjoyed the fun cartoonish theme of Winter Summerland (we did the winter side) while the kids surprisingly enjoyed Fantasia Gardens more. So I vote for definitely trying either of them.
It is fun and you do get a discount with your resort package. We did the santa side and it was so so cute and fun. Especially at night seems so vibrant and colorful. You have to try it. What is the other course and how do you get to that???
Do you hop a bus fro DHS or how do you get to it? We are totally dependant on Disney transportation
To get to Fantasia Gardens from DHS, you' take the boat to the Swan and Dolphin hotels (I'm pretty sure there's no bus connecting them). If you are coming from somewhere other than DHS, you can take a bus directly to Swan/Dolphin. Fantasia Gardens is a short walk away, through the pool area, then cross one relatively unbusy street.
Fantasia is awesome! we make sure to go at least once every trip.
