Sandals Resorts
Has anyone ever stayed at any of the Sandals Resorts? What are your opinions? I'm looking at the Montego Bay location possibly to celebrate 20th anniversary next November. Also - if you have stayed at one did you use the 'butler service'? Is it worth the extra money?

We stayed at Sandals Dunns River Falls in 2003. The resort was beautiful and we were treated like royalty. Food and drink was available 24/7. No way would I go back to Jamacia again. We didn't feel safe while off the property...even on the resort sponsored trips. There were people selling weed in the public bathrooms...they'd shove in in my pocket while standing there waiting to use the toilet. There were beggars everywhere we looked...

We love the group. We have stayed at beaches Boscobel. It was beyond our expectations. Other family have also been to three differant resorts. We did not use the butler service and did not miss it.
In regard to Jamaica, it is a poor, third world country. Do not expect it all to be a sandals. Yes, there is massive poverty and drugs play a big role in their economy as well as in their culture. We used the circumstances to discuss this with our kids and feel it was a great experience. Overall, we found the people to be warm and gracious.
It is the real world, not Disney World.

We went to Sandals in St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We were very happy with it, but it wasn't the most fantastic place we've ever been. We did not do butler service, though I can see the benefits. Without butler service, you need to be at one of the bars or leave the beach to get a drink. Butlers prepare cabanas for you and wait on you throughout the day - very worth the money in my opinion. We are big foodies so we were not super jazzed about the restaurants. There were certainly a lot of choices, but the food was just okay. Having everything included does make it very easy though!
