Many of the songs my Teen daughter listens to from Radio Disney
For me, it's watching House Hunters International. The music for the show always reminds me of Disney, probably Epcot the most. It's so strong that I feel saddened I'm not at Disney when I hear it.
Huey Lewis and the NEws "Perfect World" 1988.
First trip to Disney and at that time we thought the only time we would go. Road trip from Missouri with 9 and 11 year old, they played that song all the time. Had another unexpected WDW lover the next year and since have been about 18 times, going Feb. 2 with granddaughters,:joy:
For me the one song that reminds me is "Beautiful Day" by U2.
I was watching Youtube videos of peoples vacations and the one had this song on it. They did a good job of matching it perfectly with what was going on in the video.
Also like many have mentioned Good Life by One Republic.
These are the days by 10,000 Maniacs
I have 2
1) "This Love" by Maroon 5. I was walking into Pleasure Island once with some friends and that song/video was playing on this huge screen. I thought it was odd considering the content of that video, but it was a fun moment.
2) "The Power Cosmic" by The Echoing Green. I put that music to a WDW video-slideshow I did a while back. Obscure, but a good song.
Awesome song!
I can think of a few ...
- Clocks by Coldplay - The beginning of this song was used in a Disney commerical not long ago. Maybe for the YoaMD? Anyway, it always reminds me of Disney.
- Behind the Waterfall by David Lanz and Paul Speer - This used to be part of the Tomorrowland background loop pre-2003 and I can't tell you how many blissful hours I spent perched next to a speaker just listening to that song and soaking up the Tomorrowland atmosphere! Really any new age-y music reminds me of that background loop.
- Paradise By the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf - Had myself one heckuva time at Jellyrolls one night belting out this tune with some INTERCOT friends.
You know, I just remembered that Epcot used to use an Alan Parsons tune in their entrance loop...but I can't remember what its called. Anyway, It WAS Epcot for me! Whenever I heard it, I was instantly there!:D I'll try to remember and re-post...
motley crue - home sweet home :rocker:
I Googled it and got some hits that indicate that there definitely was an APP song used as part of the entrance music at one point, but I didn't have time to dig into the pages and find out what song it was.
But it shouldn't take long ... there seemed to be quite a few mentions about it.
DH bought Andrea Bocelli "Time to Say Goodbye" single one trip and we listened to it every single morning on our way to the parks from CBR. Now we have to bring it every trip and when we hear it elsewhere we always think of WDW!!:mickey:
Christmas Canon by Trans Siberian Ochestra was playing the first time I ever saw the Osbourne lights in person. I was down for Christmas at my parents house and we went to see the lights and have dinner one night. I was blown away by the lights, the music, and the snow.
We will rock you Queen. This played on the bus at All star sports and my ds Would sing this song going back to the room from the parks.
:blush:Very, VERY unfortunately for me, it's Miley Cyrus singing "Party in the USA". It plays on the boat from POFQ to Downtown Disney, and last few years we heard it about 100 times. It's just too bad....
My DH plays this iphone game where he has to build a simulated city. I don't know the name of the app. But it plays this futuristic-sounding music that sounds just like what they play in Epcot. Every time he plays that game we both sigh and wish we were there. 2 1/2 months and we will be there and hearing the real thing!
Definately Good Life or anything by Aerosmith! Love those Disney commercials on the radio ALL day at work...makes it so hard to concentrate and not think about being at Disney!!
As a die hard Kiss fan from the seventies (I actually met Paul Stanley at a party in Gatlinburg,TN as a teenager--he took off his tshirt and gave it to me...as well as guitar pick he was strumming his guitar with) I thoroughly enjoyed your post...however, I must also admit there is not any kiss song that brings disney to mind.
I suppose the closest thing to a non-disney song that makes my brain "go disney" would be Don McLeans American Pie...my DD (now 19) got into a long discussion of the symbols in the song on a trip down a several years back and we now take a mix CD that has it on it each time we drive down.
