New! Wine & Dine Plan
Add the Wine & Dine Plan to any Magic Your Way Package that includes dining for $39.99 per night per room.
This plan includes:
Your choice of one bottle of wine per night per room from a designated wine list. Available at select locations at the Walt Disney WorldŽ Resort.
AWESOME!!!!!!
:joy: :yay: :clappy:
I personally will go with the Deluxe Dining Plan. Not because of the appetizer but because I like that I can choose how to use my all 3 of my meals each day (counter or table sevice) and it also includes in-room dining (note gratuities ARE included for in-room dining). These are the features make the Deluxe Plan so appealing to me personally. I also like that the Wine & Dine is $39.99 per ROOM per day.
Rather than carrying money around for tips, I would think you could charge the tips to your room key.
My first two trips to WDW were on what is now called the Premium Plan and they were awesome trips. It's always more food than one can eat but we still came out ahead and we didn't even use the recreation options!
My son and I were talking just last weekend about our Premium Plan trips to WDW and what wonderful memories we have from them. I have already emailed Wendy to price a surprise WDW family vacation for my son and daughter-in-law and me next Fall or maybe even early December when she can breathe after this new rate release. Deluxe Dining Plan will definitely be part of that trip:mickey:
Oh my goodness......I'm totally confused. I feel as though I just opened up a Physics book in regards to all the dining plans.
For us 'slow' people....can someone break it down easily? (kinda like RusyScupper does...he he....I love the way he breaks things down.)
and a simple table of contents page for resort rates ONLY.

I read on another reliable website that the Standard Disney Dining Plan will NOT include appetizer or gratuities, but will continue to include tax.
Also, there are changes to the way WDW will do room charges. You will pay day to day, instead of exclusively by season. There will still be seasons, but if you overlap seasons, you will pay by the day. (eg. if you arrive during value sesason, your rate will change if your reseravation falls on the day the season changes--before you paid the same rate as the rate you paid on your first day.) Weekend days in some cases will have higher rates as well.
(Nitpick alert)
Are those pdfs final? I don't see Coronado Springs and its restaurants listed on the plan. /nitpick
I do like to see the extra snack credit on the Deluxe. If you're one of those people like me who bought a water on the plan, you couldn't get a food-type snack unless you paid cash.
Question: does anyone know if all TS credits are created alike? It appears from the description that I could trade in a breakfast credit towards a 2TS dinner or lunch.
Standard Dining:
I estimate on a 7 day/6 night trip for two adults a 13% savings on the new plan, even with paying tips/tax out of pocket. Not great, but not bad.
Deluxe plan:
This is harder to justify. Same trip as above, only with all TS lunch and CS breakfasts, it works out to a 4% savings. (Also known "as buy 18 meals, get 1 free".)
I'm not touching the other two - those are definitely lost money unless you plan to do all the "stuff" they suggest instead of the parks.
Dining plans in a nutshell
Regular Dining Plan has been reduced by $1 per person. The 2008 plan costs $37.99 peradult and $9.99 per child/per night. It no longer includes tips or appetizers. Tax is still included.
Deluxe Dining Plan is $69.99 per adult and $19.99 per child/per night. Each guest receives 3 meals and 2 snacks per night . You can choose from table service or counter service for each meal. The table service meals DO include appetizer, but tips are not included. Tax is still included.
Wine & Dine Plan can be added on to any package that includes dining for $39.99 per night per ROOM. You choose one bottle of wine per night from a selected list.
Every year the dining plans are released and do not show the Epcot and Coronado Dining. This is because those contracts are not yet signed.
Disney does not "own" those restaurants. Expect updated lists in the near future as contracts are signed.
Yes if you eat signtaure meals you can use any 2 meals from your plan for those. A meal is a meal per say.

I seriously doubt we will do the dining plan (any of them) during our January 2008 trip.
I don't get the deluxe plan. I mean, I understand the idea just don't get why you would want it. It seems to me that eating 3 meals at a table service a day (why would you want to "waste" a meal and essentially $ on a counter service) would be way too much food. I only eat two meals most days of my life. Granted I am on vacation so I want to eat well, but getting reservations and planing meal times to eat 3 table services would be more of a chore than anything. The whole trip would be about dining and not enjoying any other aspect of the resort.
Okay --- so let me get this straight. For my 10 night stay in January 08 for 2 adults and 1 child, it will be:
Dining Plan
(no app/no tip)
tax included, dessert included
1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack
10 x 37.99 = 379.90
10 x 37.99 = 379.90
10 x 9.99 = 99.90
Total = 859.70
Deluxe Dining Plan
has app and dessert
no tip
tax included
includes a refillable mug to be used at resort
3 meals (TS or CS), 2 snacks
10 x 69.99 = 699.90
10 x 69.99 = 699.90
10 x 19.99 = 199.90
Total = 1,599.70
Wow - 740.00 difference.
Is this correct?
Note: corrections have been made re: tax/desserts (8:30pm on 8-5)
The desserts are still included in the regular dining plan.......
Big Thanks MJ Team for getting all the info out to us so fast. We are lucky to have you guys in our forum.:thanks:
And the 2008 packages broken down

Nanc (who is now cross-eyed)
Hi Nancy,
thanks for all the great info :number1:, however, in your last post you included all the information for each package. However, the MYW with Deluxe Dining is actually linked to the room rates.
I know your eyes must be crossed by now but could you fix this link? Thanks!! :D
OK, fixed the link (have to stop naming things similarly!) Let me know if there are any other errant or broken ones I missed.
Thanks!
