    Default Best Beds

We've seen a number of best and worst threads, but I don't know if this one has been done

I am very picky about my matresses. In fact, I typically find it difficult to get comfortable enough to get a good solid night's sleep at hotels.

So I am wondering which resorts have the best matresses in Disney?

We are usually so exhausted by time we get back to the resort that we could sleep on the floor and it wouldn't much matter. But I must say I was very impressed with the matress at AKL, fluffy but firm.

Well, if you are counting the non-disney resorts ON Disney property... I would have to go with the Swan/Dolphin Heavenly Beds! They REALLY are heavenly! I mean... you won't want to get out of them!!!

But, other than that, I would have to say the ones at AKL are pretty good, probably because they aren't very old!

I wonder how often they change out the matresses at Disney? Or hotels in general?

We stayed at the Royal Plaza in Downtown Disney once and I remember the beds were really comfy. However, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in were the heavenly beds at Swan. They truly are heavenly. Even my children, 5 and 7, said how comfy they were. We are getting ready to build a house and I have already told DH that I want a heavenly bed in our room.

We stay at Westins and Sheratons all the time including the Swan and Dolphin because we have points as Starwood Preferred Guests and their beds are very nice but ever since they put the new beds in at the Polynesian (which happen to be the same ones at the Grand Floridian) I think it is the best bed I have been on while on vacation. I am told the new mattress is a Sealy Posturepedic.

Not all Disney Resorts use this mattress and they do change them out routinely.

My daughter and I loved the beds at Poly. They are so comfy! Felt like we were sleeping on a cloud.

We have a Sleep Number bed at home, and while at the Poly didn't miss it at all. Hopefully we have the same luck at AKL.

The beds at the CR were very comfortable when we were there in August.

From what I've read the refurbishments in the Poly and CR upgraded the mattresses considerable and it shows.

I think the Contemporary Resort has the best, most comfortable beds ever!! The pillows were heavenly too.

We've stayed at a different resort on each trip and in my experience the WL had the best beds. We sleep on a King size at home and the Queen beds at WL with the kids in the bunk beds was the best of all our resort stays.
Next week I'll let you know the sleep situation at Riverside!

I think I read somplace that as part of the updates at the Big 3, Contemporary, Poly, and Grand Floridian all have new fabulous mattresses. I can at least vouch for Poly. I have been having back issues this summer, and waking up achey every morning. But every day at the Poly I woke up just fine. Since I have been home the back issues came back, so obviously I have to get a new mattress. I am thinking of calling Poly to find out what mattresses they have!!

    Default Beds at WDW

The mattresses may be OK but the bedding at all Disney run resorts falls far behind the rest of the hotel industry. Honestly, folks, polyester bed spreads?

We stayed at a Hyatt Place recently. I have see the future of contemporary hotels and is isn't the Contemporary Resort.

Yeah the 3 monorail resorts got the new beds the other Deluxe resorts have not at this point.

I posted above what the new bed is at the Polynesian.

The Deluxe resorts will be upgrading their towels and bedding this year. I think the Polyensian was scheduled for this month.

Yes, that changeover occurred on the week of the 10th. On our last day at the resort, suddenly, there were brand new towels! LOL

The Poly beds are to die for. I'm not kidding. I think you actually might melt into them when you lie down. Better than a cloud.

Anyone know the official retail doppleganger to the Sealy Posturepedic in the Poly? I hve decided: I am getting one! But there are TONS of versions. And I know they likely have a wholesale line for hotels, but if there is a retail version of it, I want it!

I could sleep anywhere so I think the beds are fine at all the resorts. I wish they were alittle lower since it's hard to get out when you first wake up.
I hate the pillows, much to big. I'm used to a pillow with the buckwheat that you can make very flat. Now I bring a small pillow from home and sleep much better
