Seasonal passes for this family of 6 is about $1500 a year.

During that time we spend more on accommodations. I usually go down every month (outside blackout dates) and then do about a week's stay 3 times a year.

We always stay value and always get discounts, but it adds up. The costs of dining is close to what we spend on the room.

We only live about 2hrs away so travel is almost a non-issue.

For us it's usually accommodations except this year it's airfare because we are going with my parents and staying for free with them in their DVC. Cheap trips are the best!

I think the accomodations are the most expensive, followed by tickets. We're not getting the free dining plan this time around, but I think the dining plan (2 adults, 1 child, 6 nights) runs about $550 tops?

I think it is always the accommodations for us. Even flying from the west, we can usually get a good deal on airfare.

We are staying at a value for 6 nights with 5 day tickets no hoppers. 2 adults 1 child and our tickets are more expensive.

This time, for us, it is going to be the dining.
We got the 7 for 4 deal for this summer.
    It depends on the trip.
Sometimes we get a good deal on our resort room, other times we fly for fairly cheap.
The times when we have gone down for free dining, it was paying rack rate for the resort that was the big expense.

I get what you're looking for, however, I have found that often it's not really the accomodations or the dining that is the deal breaker on a trip, it's the tickets (even if they are not the most expensive).

When planning, I look at value... For a quick getaway, I can justify in my mind $200 round trip for a flight, or even $100 a night for a room (or whatever it turns out to be). But when I think about the tickets, it's becoming not worth the expense.

So, definitely tickets is a deal breaker for me when planning a trip. If I don't need to buy tickets, the decision becomes a lot easier.

Along this line of thought, tickets are the most expensive part of our trip when it's time to renew our passes (family of 6). But we take so many trips that this consideration only occurs once a year.

That's why we're not renewing all of our family's passes this year; because of the expense (which would make it a deal breaker for us).

Accomindations for us, but only because we shop and wait until we get a reasonable airfare.

    accomodations >1100 (10 nights Moderate)
    tickets >700
dining ??? We have 150/day budgeted includes tips
    transportation >390 flights

For us I anticipate dining. if they had free dining then it would be accomodations. We have AP discounts on the room.

Airfare! No question. SInce we fly to FL from New Zealand, they travel is easily our most expensive and often times it is more than half the cost of the actual trip. DVC saves us on accommodations, and we both eat smaller more healthy meals, so in all honesty it is no doubt the airfare that we consider most when decided if we are going to Disney the next year.

Great, great point... with DVC and AP's, we make "quick trips" more often than you can imagine. The tickets are flippin' expensive, but I'm grateful we all have AP's; so like you said, the decision is much easier!

So that being said, dining is a huge expense to us. We do not let it deter us, but it is the largest piece of our pie nowadays. Keep in mind, while not "foodies," we are dining snobs (admittedly ). Certain places we will not consider any longer () and are definitely out of the question, while others we simply will not miss!

For us, it's accommodations. We are just a party of two, so our food and ticket costs aren't too bad, and we currently live within an easy driving distance, so our transportation costs are minimal.

I guess with the price of tickets going up, there will be a more of a concern than ever
