D23 Haunted Mansion CD

Hey all! Sorry if this topic has been discussed or is in the wrong section...

I was wondering if the CD that is coming out is the 1969 recording with Ron Howard? I looked at the website but it didn't mention if it was that recording or not. I ask this because the CD cover is the same as the old LP cover. I used to listen to that album hours on end when I was little (I'm only 23!). I have mp3 copies of the recording on my iPod and listen to it while driving to work, lol!

I would bet you have to order this from Disneyland Merchandise Guest Services (formerly Disneyland DeliverEars) ... you can find info on how to contact them in the Resort Guide.

I obtained these years ago when my dad put all my LPs on the computer. {edited per TOS} I've tried searching yahoo, google and youtube and have not had any luck finding this recording either. So sad!

This is different from the HM Park CD. And it is the re-release of the '69 album with Ron Howard about the two teenagers walking home from a date. If you go to disneystore dot com and go to the D23 section, you'll have it under the pins and collectibles section. There you'll see that it's for "members only" to buy.
{edited per TOS} I'm a huge HM fan and it was my cousin's copy of this album that started it all, back in 1970. I have my own copy of the album. But would love to have it on CD.

Found out that the pre-order is a D23 exclusive. Shortly after Sept. 10, it'll become available to the general public. Just in time for Halloween. Yeah!!!

If you've never seen the LP and are a big fan of the HM, I'd advise you to get this CD. The artwork is incredible. The audio is a fun story also.

I ordered mine about a week ago along with the Sherman Brothers collection. I will say this as D23 member I will not be happy if they make this available to the general public after all I did pay for my membership and it is listed as a member exclusive.

This was also release a few back on cassette at the Disney Store as a Spooky Night in the Haunted Mansion so this is not the first rerelease of this recording.

JPL, I see where you're coming from. I'd feel the same way after paying $75 a year to become a member. If it's going to be made available to the public, they shouldn't claim it as a member exclusive item.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone posts these CDs on eBay or bootlegged copies. I remember back when they released the other Haunted Mansion CD (the one with Paul Frees) I went on eBay to buy my copy, only to discover it was not an official copy

I'm not in any way condoning bootlegs but I was just happy to get a copy of the CD. Whoever made it did a pretty decent job. Same album artwork with the exception of his info on the inside

From what I've read at another website, from the producer of the CD, Randy Thornton, it will be available to the general public.

Actually the 12 days early was added since the item was added.

I know there's another post regarding The Story and Song From the Haunted Mansion '69 CD. But I wanted to post that I read that there's also going to be another HM Ride Through CD coming on 9/9/09.

I just saw that you can pre-order the Story and Song from the HM '69 on Amazon. The release date is 9/22.

Disney should not have put that this was exclusive to D23 at any time. That's not right.

I wonder if they got one extra D23 member because someone felt that had to have this CD. And becoming a D23 member was the only way. It's possible.

I posted on the other thread that the Story and Song from the HM '69 is available to pre-order from Amazon. But from what I've read, the ride through CD will only be available in the parks.

I'll probably go through Deliverears for both.

I actually order 3 extras to give as Christmas gifts to people I know who aren't D23 members now I have to hope they don't buy it before Christmas. I ordered because I didn't know how long they would be available to members
