I agree. This was in-line with the whole concept of being immersed (literally in this case) in the "magic" and imagination.

I agree with PPs, I miss the penny arcade and 20k leagues under the sea.

I am okay with Stitch, but would rather have the old ride.

This could get to be a long list for me. lol So here goes, JasonH's List of Attractions Now Gone!

Spaceship Earth as narrated by both Walter Kronkite (love Tomorrow's Child) and Jeremy Irons
Communicore East & West (Including Epcot Poll)
Original Universe Of Energy (although I do love Ellen's Energy Adventure, I do miss the original and I did like it)
Wonders Of Life Pavilion (I miss just about everything in there, but not so much Body Wars )
Horizons (If we can dream it, we can do it!)
World Of Motion (Now things really get rolling! It's fun to be free!)
The Living Seas (I do miss the original way this place was but I do like the addition of Nemo to it all as it helps bring in the kids to have fun there too)
Kitchen Kabaret and Food Rocks (Bring back Bonnie Appetite and Fud Wrapper!)
The original Journey Into Imagination (Figment & Dreamfinder....nuff said )
El Rio Del Tiempo (I thought it was good enough as it was and perhaps only needed to update the video as you could tell that it was from the early 80's thanks to the hairstyles and clothing lol)
The Penny Arcade and Magic Shop (Loved stopping at both to spend some small change for big fun and looking at the neat items in the shop...still got my glow-in-the-dark vulture plaque that I bought at the Magic Shop hanging on my wall with price sticker still on the back)
Mike Fink Keelboats (Loved going on those but never got to ride on the top, always the bottom b/c my mom was afraid of heights.)
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Always loved having that imagination kicking in and thinking we really went deep into the water and having Captain Nemo guide us through.)
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (If any ride was brought back to MK, this would be the one I want the most!!)
The Skyway between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland
Extra-terrorestial Alien Encounter (I thought this was a great addition to MK as it gave a darker side to all the fun and a great cast to back it up too.)
The Timekeeper (A great 360 movie and again a great cast for it as well!)
If You Had Wings and Dreamflight (Loved both of em, rode Dreamflight one time for 3 times in a row )
Dick Tracy Stageshow (Dick Tracy had just been released into theaters and then Disney-MGM Studios decided to have a stageshow for it. It was excellent to me and very catchy tunes.)
Superstar Television 1 (Got to experience this not only as an audience member, but first-hand as well.....3 different times!! Twice as the butler getting hit with a pie in the 3 Stooges scene and once as a federal agent in the Golden Girls scene.)
Monster Sound Show (Loved Chevy Chase and Martin Short in this and I even got picked once to do some of the sound effects!)
The original Backlot Tour (It's just not the way it used to be and has really lost its pizzaz.)
Orginal Star Tours (I only say this b/c of the memories I have of it, including having rode it 30 times in a row during a Star Wars Weekends Challenge that you had to sign up for.)

A couple honorable mentions: Listen To The Land and any previous versions of Carousel Of Progress from here on until it is decided to go away which hopefully it doesn't.

So there's my list of attractions from the past that I loved and miss and would love to be able to experience again.
28 times to WDW and still going since 1984!! Most recent visit: November/December 2011...Far too long since my last visit! :'(

Personally, I believe it didn't start with a mouse. It started with a man that had one of the greatest imaginations in this world.

All I have to say is there is so much. The parade in EPCOT from around 2000 is something that when I saw it changed my life.

Mickey Mouse Revue was something I'll never ,y only opportunity, 1973, cause I returned in 1988 and it was already gone. I was really sad about it. I remember I loved everything, even the preshow hall with the statues.

I just read the show ran until it was closed on September 14, 1980. But does anybody know why it was closed? I can't believe it was because of low audience (if so then why it is running in Tokio!)

    Country Bear Christmas
    Horizons
The arcade at Fort Wilderness before it became Crockett's Tavern (remember you could make Henry from Country Bear dance) ok that goes way back
    River Country

I miss something you could only really experience from the air. The giant hidden Mickey at the Disney MGM Studios. You can still see remnants of it from satellite pictures. It's right where the hat is now. One of the ears was Echo Lake, and you can still clearly see one of his eyes, between the hat and Echo Lake. They had the other ear painted on the roof of the Hollywood Brown Derby. I always thought it was neat to stand in the middle of Mickey's face, and I was one of the only people around me who knew.

I was checking old WDW videos in youtube, like the 1971 Grand Opening special, and saw clips from parades of the 70s, and realize there are characters that I've not seen in recent visits, like the Flower & Thumper from Bambi movie. I thought those are characters gone from the parks, too. But I finally found pictures of a Easter Pre-Parade, and there's a rabbit that looks like Thumper. Don't know if it was just for Easter (are there always "easter" parades?)

And, are there more Disney characters you remember, that are no more in parades or meet & greets?

Exactly, same as me. And Mickey Mouse Review too. I think that if some day I go to Tokyo, and visit Tokyo Disneyland, my first attraction would be MMR, and I'll definitely cry. Remember that first trip, when I was 7yo, remember my late mother, etc.

I definitely miss Food Rocks. It was a very sad day when my mom and I watched that show for the final time before it closed. I think I can remember us almost crying.

I also miss Cranium Command. One of my favourite shows after Food Rocks. That was always one of my favourite things to do along with walking around the Wonders of Life pavillion. The year after the pavillion closed I really wanted to ride Body Wars, which really makes me regret riding it when I had the chance.

Removed from TD?? OMG!! Now life has no sense!! I mean I enjoy Philarmagic, and I never complained that much about many attractions they replaced, but Mickey Mouse Review is as classic as Country Bear or Small World. I never found out how closing MMR made sense.

As some others say this is a tough one. Been going so long that there are quite a number of attractions gone that I miss. But the most missed probably are:

Kitchen Kabaret (veggie veggie fruit fruit, miss that song)
    World of Motion
    Horizons
    Timekeeper
    Original Journey Into Imagination
    Discovery Island
    Cranium Command
26 years staying at the Polynesian
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday...
Twenty six straight years staying at the Polynesian
    Next trip: October 2018

Thank god for youtube because there are a lot of Disney attractions I never got to experience that I would've liked such as Country Bears holiday/summer specials, Mickey Mouse Revue, America Sings in DL, etc.
