Monorail Peach to join the fleet

A brand new monorail train will be added to the fleet this fall. Designated Monorail Peach, it will bring the number of monorail units back up to the full complement of twelve. The monorail colors pink and purple have been permanently retired in the wake of the fatal collision in 2009.

Disney is saying that the new train will consist of many new parts combined with recycled components of the pink and purple trains that were involved in the accident.

Not to side track the discussion (no pun intended) - Wasn't WDW looking to get the similar monorail trains that are the new ones at DL? Only asking since the thought of getting a new Mark VI train if they'll be replaced later just didn't make sense to me. :p However, It's nice to see they are going to bring the trains back up to 12. I love those monorails. I miss the days of working at Contemp. and watching the trains.

From what I know there are some logistical issues with having the same train that is in DL. I wish I could remember all the facts but essentially the DL train would not work in Florida (something about the cooling system I think, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Personally, I'd rather see each park have its own unique monorail. The new at DL is awesome but I think not everything needs to be copied.

Glad to hear that they are going to put another train back in the fleet, but I really wish that they'd finally add some more tracks too.
