Arriving Sunday after Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone,

We are arriving for a week long vacation to Disney World the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I have never been this week before - how busy do you think it will be?

Crowds clear out pretty quickly at the end of the weekend. Crowds are typically low to moderate at that time.

We are getting there the day before you. We've been a few times that time of year and it's not bad at all.

In 2009 we arrived the Thursday before Thanksgiving and left the Tuesday after Thankgsiving. We noticed a decrease in crowds on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but by Monday the place seemed to have completely emptied out.

I think you will have low crowds. I am going the first week in December. I guess we will just miss each other. Don't forget the Christmas party in the MK. It is worth the extra ticket.

By Sunday, the crowds at Disney will have thinned out. The airports will be another matter. Just expect it to be very busy the day you fly out.

A great time to go! We have gone that week almost every year for the past several years and it is very quiet once you hit the Sunday/Monday after Thanksgiving. Parks are all decorated for Christmas too. The weather can be a little iffy- so packing layers of clothing is best. We've been able to swim most years, but have had the weather turn on us and get really cold too. Have a great time!!

It's a great week to go. We arrive the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Lower crowds, but the weather can be iffy.

Four years ago we arrived the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. It was great! We spent a day at another park down the road and there was even less crowds there. It was like a ghost town! We are going to arrive on Sunday of Thanks giving weekend this year. Can't wait.

Good to know. I was thinking of planning a trip for next year for the week after Thanksgiving. I think I just made up my mind.

We've done this for the past 5 years: we arrive on Thanksgiving Eve and leave the following Wednesday.
Like pp stated it's usually empty (Sunday night we usually go to MVMCP @ MK) and while you are there they usually start getting ready to tape the Christmas Parade by Mon and Tues so you might be in for a nice treat!

Hi! I am also going down the sunday after Thanksgiving through Dec 3rd. I am back in Wisconsin, but I am a former WDW CM, working as an Entertainment Tech at the Studios. This will be my first trip back to world after leaving the company in 2010.

We were there last year during the week after Thanksgiving. The crowds were minimal. The weather cold ...
We are going back this year for a short visit. We will be there Wednesday after Thanksgiving. Hoping for warmer weather this year.

Awesome time to go. We will actually be getting down there the day before you. We were going to come down on Sunday as that is when our package deal starts but we decided to come a day early and just stay on property. We don't have tickets or dining plan for Saturday so we're going to just hang out. An extra day to soak in the Disney Magic.
