Survivor: One World
Cast Bios have been released!
Looks like there will be NO Redemption Island this season.
Tampa resident Monica Culpepper is on the cast this season. I see her husband's 'Culpepper and Kurland' attorney's office ads all the time, but had no idea he was a former Buccaneer player. Never heard of him.

Yes! I like the sound of this season so far. They're back to reward challenges. They're adding do-it-yourself challenges (interesting) and shaking up the hidden immunity idol by making the person who finds it have to give it to someone on the other team. And it will start out as men against women (done that, but could be different with them all on one beach). Really looking forward to it.

Brad Culpepper was a star football player at University of Florida and played 8 years in the NFL, mostly with Bucs, in the '90s. Monica is his ex-wife.

Ex-wife? Not from what I've been reading today.

Oops, my mistake . The former star UF football player and UF Homecoming Queen are still married.

I remember Brad Culpepper. He was a defensive lineman, I think. A tackle. He actually played for the Vikings in the first part of his career. They drafted him in like the 9th or 10th round or something and then he went on to actually have a pretty decent career. He finished up with the Bears.

I noticed that you glossed over the 6 years of his career he played for the Bucs . After he finished playing, he finished up his law degree at UF (he started it in his last year of college eligibility). He now has one half of a very successful law firm in Tampa. They sponsor a lot of things on the Tampa sports radio stations.
Had a huge crush on him in college (he is our age, Ian) .
This does seem like the Survivor cast of the "beautiful people".

Ha ... No, I just felt like you and Mel had mentioned that part already and wanted to elaborate a bit on his full career. I actually liked him when he played, because he was a bit of a "lunch pail guy" (to borrow a phrase from Mike Golic).

I noticed that, as well. I've complained about that the "Big Brother-ification" of Survivor for a few years now and it seems like it's continuing.

I must have looked at the wrong cast members so far because I missed the beauty entirely. There's always a mix, though.

I agree Sherri. I see only about 4-5 of these folks that I'd consider good looking. Seems like a typical cast to me. Interesting that it appears that the first ever little person will be competing.
Excited for this season, as it looks as if there will be no returning cast, no RI, and the return of reward challenges. Ahhhh, good old Survivor (I hope!).

The day after, I'll reply and give a run-down of how it went. I've never been to one of these before. I'm working on my Survivor "character" now. I've also been practicing fire starting in my backyard; its not as easy as I thought it would be to get a fire going, even with flint.

I remember Brad Culpepper from when he played with the Bucs. I noticed on her Survivor profile she put she is "tenacious" which is all over the Culpepper Kurland law firm commercials down here.
Looks like Kate is a timeshare rep in Orlando.
Looking forward to the new season!

Funny! You know, I've always paid attention to their billboards/commercials, but not because of Culpepper, but because Brett Kurland is a nice looking man!

Las Vegas audition went fine. I got 60 seconds infront of the camera to give my survivor pitch. Only 250-300 people showed up to audition, the PA told us that last year close to 3000 showed up. Fingers crossed

Wow, sounds like interest has dropped. But that's good for you. Fingers crossed!

I remember back in 2004 I helped run the auditions in Cincinnati when I was in broadcasting school. There were thousands of people there and it took all day to do. I think interest has definitely dropped.
