Halloween party not for ECVs

We did the party on 9/22, five people, with three on ECVs.
The ECVs were denied access on all of the party special attractions.
I will never return to THAT DUMP again.

Oh ick!!! Were the attractions not accessible, or what was the reason?

I have seen many wheel chairs in the houses, but now that it is mentioned, I have never seen an ECV. I have seen someone transfer from an ECV into a traditional wheelchair. I have been on the pre-event tours and they do mention that they are all handicapped accessible. I'm guessing they don't want motorized chairs?

I have seen motorized chairs at the shows (Bill & Ted, etc.).

That said, I can't recall ever seeing any literature or maps that mention no ECVs in the houses. That certainly should be clear at the time of ticket purchase...

Did they offer a wheelchair rental? They should have. However, I imagine that would not have solved your problem since the number of people in ECVs outnumbered those not in them (i.e. you'd have to go in the houses in different "shifts").

I'm sorry you did not get to experience the houses.

They did offer us manual wheelchairs, but Both DW and I are extra large to say the least, and will not fit in a standard wheelchair.

In a sense I can see limitations on power chairs. There are companies now advertising rental services " not just for the disabled" . Anyone can show up. Expect special service, delay busses, and take away from the services designed for truly disabled folks. Sort of like the pitbulls and yorkies being presented as "service dogs"
That being said, all policies should be clearly stated.
