Default Philadelphia Meet in the Spring

I found a great place to meet. It's right around the corner from the Reading Terminal Market. Maggiano's on 12th and Filbert. It's a nice big place with a large menu and good food.

Who is interested in meeting in the spring when the weather is warmer. We can have a great meal then go across the street for some Bassets Ice Cream and 4th Street Cookies. Life can't get better than that!

I will be interested! Have a couple spring day trips planned so hopefully a day I can come.

I will need to know what day a few weeks before so I can get off work ( I do work weekends too).

For me it would have to be a weekend. The schedule should be out by the end of March and we can try to pin down a day that will work for the majority.

Love Maggiano's Little Italy. There is also one in Cherry Hill, NJ and King of Prussia, PA. I've been there a lot. Classic Italian food at pretty reasonable prices. If you have a large party they ask you to order family style which is something like $28 a person for (I think) 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts. I don't have any classes this semester (working on my thesis!) so when you pick a date I will request off, and should be good to go!

As long as I know 3-4 weeks ahead of time I should be able to get off a Saturday. The last weekend of April or in May would be best for me.

I'm interested. I can hop on PATCO and meet on the weekends. I work in the Center City and can walk to meet with people during the week if anyone wants. In fact, I've walked to Reading Terminal Market on my lunch hour to pick up a DiNic's roast pork sandwich !

I'm glad we have a small group so far. It will be alot of fun. In the next couple of weeks I will come up with a few dates to see what is best for everyone.

I really don't care for family style just for the fact that when going out to eat I think everyone should be able to get exactly what they want. PlusI am not getting dessert there because I am absolutely obsessed with Bassetts Ice Cream and can now only find it in Philly.

Anyway once we have the date I will call the restaurant to make sure they can let us order off of the menu.

I'm leaning toward May if that is OK with everyone else. The weather will be warmer and I think Debbie said she could only do the last weekend if it was in April.

Nanci & Laura, I'm glad you in!

Yeah, I would definitely check on that. I understand your aversion to the family style. It's always worked for us but typically we go with actual family or close friends. Might be harder to accommodate a group like this and keep everyone happy-plus, like you said, you don't want dessert there. If they won't let you do regular menu, there are plenty of other places.

We are in the process of moving so May would be better for me.

We have done several work events at Maggiano's and they have always allowed us to order off the menu. (I have also done the family style, which is great, but it can be hard to set up with a big group of people with variying tastes/ dietary needs.)

I'm definitely interested. I missed the last meet that was planned due to unforeseen circumstances but my wife & I have been looking forward to another.

I've been to the Maggiano's at the Cherry Hill Mall & the food is real good.

I will have the golf schedule sometime this week, so I will be able to come up with a date by next weekend and it will be in May.

How is May 11th for everyone? It's a Saturday.

I can't do the 4th (I have a communion in Philly) or the 18th (I have a school play that day).

The 25th is Memorial Day Weekend and we might have alot of traffic that weekend.

    Is the 11th good?

I was hoping for a day with a Phillies game (so my boys would want to come along), but no such luck. I'll still want to really try and make it.
