Default POR or BC at Christmas?

Ok....I had BC booked knowing that when my DD arrived at WDW and began her semester in DCP that she would be able to see about CM discounts. I booked BC under free dinning so I could at least book my dinning ressies at 180 days out. Well now I have the option of changing my booking to the CM discount with her. She can get me BC at about $1880 (not sure what level but it was not the garden level like I originally had) or POR for like $880.

Is BC worth the extra $? I wanted BC so I could walk back and forth to my resort from Epcot. But having never stayed there before, I am questioning if BC is worth the extra $1K? My favorite moderate has been POR and I have not been back there since it has been renovated. But I do love the deluxe resorts at Christmas. So I am unsure which is more important? I changed it to POR for now to just make a quick decision but I need to decide soon and stick with my choice! LOL

    Any suggestions?

I've enjoyed BC when I've stayed there, but I don't think it's worth that much extra unless you're there more than in the parks. What about doing a 1 or 2 night stay at BC so that you can experience it and the rest at POR?

the money difference is a personal issue but we go to BCV every december and the smell of gingerbread from the gingerbread carousel and all of the decorations is something we enjoy every year. add to that you can walk into epcot, walk to hollywood studios for the osborne holiday lights, less busses, and we love BCV. we also love BWV for many of those same reasons.

for the moderates we love POR and FQ as well, but at the holidays we just really enjoy the Beach Club.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I am debating doing a split stay. I really am having a hard time deciding on this one. Christmas is so busy so it is hard to say what I will feel like. It might just be nice spending the $ I save shopping and eating, LOL.

This is the main reason I really want to stay there. I think I would be perfectly happy at POR but I do like the idea of being able to walk back and forth to epcot without all of the hassle of the buses.

I am going to have to decide soon! Ugh

I wouldn't think it's worth it for that much more. But to each his / her own. I will say however you need to know that CM discounts are great and wonderful, but they do not have a lot to pick from and things tend to close up FAST ! Did you get FQ or Riverside ?? We hardly ever get an opening at Riverside with my DD's CM discount, we typically stay at the FQ which we have fallen in "love" with. So, if you jump back n forth you may end up losing POR ??

We actually did get Riverside with her CM discount. Which I was surprised about. I am pretty sure I am going to remain there too. I just think that I would rather use the $ I save to eat and shop. I have been watching videos of both as it has been a long while since I stayed at POF but I really love it and think I will be happy there. Really just being able to walk is the only bonus for BC for me.

I've stayed at both resorts in the past. Being able to walk to Epcot and HS, plus the beauty of the Epcot Resorts area has been the main plus of staying at the BC. It just comes down to whether you want to pay the added $$$ But, it's nice to have a choice
