Not all of the Magic is lost.
We capped our long travel day off with dinner at Hoop Dee Doo. I had been worried about the 2 year old being bored, but she watched most of the show with great interest and learned how to do the hokey pokey. Eventually, the day caught up to her, and we had to leave a little early.
The bus completely emptied out at the stop before ours, and DD and I started doing the hokey pokey to keep Lillian occupied. After a while, the bus driver made a comment about keeping us on the bus to entertain him. He was a very nice older gentleman.
When we got to our stop, he sat and talked with Lillian for a few minutes. She loved it. Then he gave her some character cards. It pulled a smile on her face and her parents’ faces.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I had friends who had never been to Disney see the Hoop De Doo for the first time a week or so ago. They loved it. Sometimes we who have been there so much forget the joy things bring to those who are experiencing the magic thru fresh eyes. It’s still there.

I think Disney lost something when they started playing music on the buses. Prior to the music a lot more of the bus drivers took it upon themselves to entertain the guest on the bus. My best ride on a Disney bus was in 2005, and started with the bus driver getting on the bus at Disney MGM studios and telling us that he would release the break, and the bus would drop 13 stories. He proceeded to tell jokes for the entire ride back to the resort, and ended with "If you enjoyed this ride my name is Mike with Walt Disney World transportation, if you didn't like it I'm Bob and this has been the Jungle Cruise."
"Welcome, Foolish Mortals..."
