    Default seating on Space Mountain

I have not been on SM in several years and I cannot remember how riders are seated. Are the seats side by side for two people or one in front of the other? My DD who is 10 has never ridden SM and would like to try when we go in 2 1/2 weeks but I am not sure if she will be comfortable if she has to sit by herself. She loves Test Track, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain but does sit by me or DH on those rides. Someone please remind me of the seating on SP!

This is correct, a two car train with three single file seats per car. At least I think so , you bring up a good question.

Each rocket vehicle on Space Mountain holds three passengers seated one behind the other. Two rockets are connected to make a six-person train.

But if she enjoys BTMRR, she should love SM. If you sit right behind her, you can put your hands on her shoulders and she ought to feel duly protected!

I agree with everyone else. And if your DD likes all the rides you listed, she should have no problem whatsoever with Space Mountain

you should also check out rockin roller coaster in mgm. it is alittle more intense than sm but you sit side by side and you could hold on to you dd. rockin roller coaster is one of my favorite rides of all the parks.
    Keep telling yourself that, darling.

Thanks for all the great info and the photo! I think DD will be fine if I can reach her shoulders. Great idea!
