Default Resorts charge to accepting a mailed package?

Do the resorts charge if you send a package ahead of time? I'm thinking of sending snacks (pop tarts, etc) before hand, but didn't know if I needed to expect a charge for a shipped box to myself.

I did this last year and was not charged...We sent 3 boxes of stuff for our family of 8.

Make sure to pack the boxes well and send them early enough so that you can see it was signed for and arrived at your resort.

    Have fun!

Also, make sure it is clearly marked with your Name and Date of arrival.

    1) Sometimes they actually do charge you.
. . . if you are staying at a convention resort
. . . if you are staying at a designated convention overflow resort
    2) The box might be received by the convention bellmen.
    3) It is then considered part of convention luggage.
    4) You WILL be charged a convenience and handling fee ($15-$40 per bag/box).
    5) Sample convention resorts or overflow resorts
    . . . GF
    . . . CSR
    . . . WL
    . . . BW
    . . . YC/BC

NOTE: If you are staying at such a resort, you have no way to address the box to guarantee that convention bellmen do not receive the box. It is sheer luck if they handle it or if regular resort bellmen handle it. If convention bellmen receive it, there is a charge because the union contract has payment for the bellmen to handle convention luggage.

Well, rats! We are staring our at CSR because of my husbands' conference there. That's very good to know. I wonder if I can get away with not telling my husband that I could be wrong.

We stayed at BWI in Nov. 07 & I shipped box down (UPS) and was not charged any fee. We sent one to The Swan July 07 and they charged us 6.00.
If you ship down (which I recommend) make sure it arrives no more than 5 days before you do. If package arrives more than 5 days out, then they will charge you.
I usually ship from OH on a Thurs. & is delivered on Mon or Tues. for our arrival Fri./Sat. Just have your Name & arrival date very visible on the outside of the box. I put it on top & one of the sides. When you check in they will deliver to your room.
Now when we left in Nov. we shipped 2 boxes home from BWI convention center & they charges us 5.00 handling fee to ship back home.
I use UPS and they give me exact arrival date, and then e-mail me when it's delivered and who signed for it. I print that out and take with me.

Although we've never been charged for boxes sent via Fed Ex 3-Day Select to CR or WL, I wouldn't be surprised if we see this for all inbound resort shipments in the near future.

I'd guess that Disney is going to see a large jump in the amount of folks mailing packages to avert the $25 extra bag fee that the airlines are charging, and they'll need to do something to try to dissuade guests from sending 1/2 of their luggage down ahead of time.

there is one other option order online at
gardengrocer.com they deliver the day you arrive. I don't know what your shipping from fedex is but they wanted to charge me 30.00
garden grocer only charges 12.00 no matter how much you get. just one more thing to think about.
