Sorry to hear that, Carley. I hope things work out better for you in the long run.

    What is your flight's date?

It would take you less than 6 hours to get to Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale in a car. That is crazy!
    Good luck!

Unfortunately, air travel right now is like the spin of a roulette wheel - you never know if you'll come up a winner or a loser!

we booked threw Spirit airlines.. we flew with them last year with no problems what so ever

this year... flight changes and layovers i didnt expect...tho they have fixed it after being on the phone with them so long.

last year we had to pay a per checked bagged fee and knew i would have to do that as well BUT this year i also had to pay to pick the seats we are in..ten dollars for an aisle seat and ten dollars for a window seat...middle seat was five dollars... for the 3 of us an extra fifty dollars roundtrip to make sure we were sitting togther

i can understand with gas prices they have to raise their prices as well but we dont leave till sept 20 and im only 35 i could be nothing but grey hair by then

Woah!!!!!! If we lived closer than Az., we'd consider driving.

I think we're all in for a bumpy ride with the airlines, and I'm scared to death that we'll get to the airport in Dec., and be cancelled.

Good luck to you. This is a bummer !

    1) Spirit is canceling 40% of its flights.
    2) This is no doubt the reason for the convoluted flight plan.

im also flying in sept 20 to the 29th but from NY. here is the kicker i still havent bought my flights yet bc im watching the prices slowly creep down for jetblue and southwest which are the only 2 i will fly. i have til aug 6th to cancel my disney trip which i have been well prepared to do if i dont find something reasonable. i have a vacation booked one month after that on a cruise so i wouldnt be that upset.
Next trip sept 23- thru oct 1 2013 for my sons first trip ever at 28 months.
