Default Dining question for 7-night cruise

Are all restaurants, except Palo, included in the cruise price? Are you rotated through the 3? Do you determine the rotation, or are you given it? Are tables shared, or are you given one just for your party (of 4, in our case)?

    Thanks!!

All restaurants, counter service at the pools, and room service are included in the cruise fare. This also includes food and drinks on Castaway Cay, except for alcohol and any drinks purchased at a bar or through room service.

You can request a specific rotation, but it's not guaranteed that you can get it.

I believe that there are tables for 4 up to 8 or so. They assign you to a table. You may get a table with your friends (I think it's easier if you link reservations).

Your dining rotation will include the 3 main restaurants, with dinner in 2 of them twice and 1 of them three times. Each night will have some type of theme attached to it. Either a cruise casual, formal night, pirates night or semi-formal. Unfortunately, even if you request a certain rotation, you won't find out what that is until you check-in at the port. It will be printed on your room key, along with your dining time and table (same for all 3 restaurants). You can also request a private table for your family, although that's not a guarantee either.

A dining rotation can look like this on the 7 nights: LAAPPLA

    Animators Palette
    Lumieres
    Parrot Cay

Animators Palette is the restaurant that goes through the color changes as you dine. This only occurs on the first night that you dine there.

If you dine at Palo, the only additional fee you'll be assessed is $15 per diner (plus any alcohol you may order). You won't have to pay for the cost of the meal.

As already mentioned you rotate through the restaurants and you are assigned the rotation.

However, you can request a early or late seating. Due to health my DW needs to eat at a typical diner time. We were originally put in a late seating. We completed the medical request form and sent it in. By the time we got to port they changed us to the early seatings. So, if needed you can be moved around.

We were concerned about the assigned tables. But, it worked out. We don't have kids, so being just the two of us we thought we could end up at a table with a family of "happy kids". Don't get me wrong I enjoy my niece and nephew and my friends kids. We were seated with two other families. One couple with no kids, and the other had a 14 month old. Seriouly, it was an enjoyable time.

Talking with others it seems that they try to fit people together based on the family make up. ie kids/no kids

We've been 3 times. The first time, there were 2 adults and 1 child and they sat us at a table with 2 other families - total of 10 at the table. The second and third time there were 3 adults and 1 child and we had our own table. I actually like sitting with other people. It varies the converation.

Been to WDW more times than I can count since 1972. Stayed at BLT, AKV, WLV, SSR, POP, CBR, CR, FW Cabins, all the All Stars and also off site. Been to DL 3 times, 4 cruises on the Magic and went on the Dream Inaugural Cruise.
