Will I be teased for wearing Jorts to the parks?

I like to wear my Jorts, black socks with sandals, fanny pack, goofy cap and my mesh sleeveless shirt when I go to WDW.

I just got home from work and I'm packing up the Memory Machine (van) and the camper for our departure tomorrow morning.
I am anxiously waiting for my wife to wake up, so that I can change out of my work clothes and put on my precious JORTS.

I think I'll pack about four pair of em. And my new sandals are chaffing a bit, I should wear socks with them.

Where did I put them?

Oh wait, there in my fannypack.

My kids say I'm an old man, so if I'm out of style then everything is alright. Us old folk are supposed to be out of style. Or is that actually a style all its own? I guess that would make me a stylish old person.

My neighbor was wearing jorts to mow his lawn yesterday....and then wore them again to go shopping at the mall. I am going to have to move.

I agree that denim shorts are fine, but no way on the cutoffs.

What's wrong with jean shorts? Since I can't find ANY shorts for men that don't go down to my shins, I cut my old jeans into shorts and they look fine.

nothing, personally i could care less about making a fashion statement, and i wear whatever is comfortable to me

Well, my trip is complete and I see that my jorts thread stayed somewhat active in my absence.

I'll have to admit that I didn't take any jorts to Orlando and didn't see many guys wearing them. One that stood out was a dude about my age wearing jorts, fanny pack and cell phone clip. Awesome.

After this trip, my new goal is to convince people that the 2nd nightly showing of Fantasmic is much easier to attend than the first but I don't think I'm gaining many converts. I still can't fathom why people wait up to two hours for the show, when they show it again a little later to a half empty stadium.

This is all ridiculous. Jorts are definitely in; otherwise, I wouldn't have a stack of them next to my swevests (sweater vests) in my closet.

You don't have to worry too much about being stylish around the Disney folk. The last time we were at the world no other guest was even wearing the groovy swevests

If I didn't wear jean shorts, I'd have to go naked (and trust me, nobody wants to see that). DH and I and both DDs (ages 9 and 14) all wear jean shorts. Everyone here still wears them. In fact, I didn't even know what jorts were!

I've never heard the term until recently on these boards! Everyone wears them here & we just back from Myrtle Beach & and saw all ages & walks of life wearing them! I thought this was really strange when I first heard the word "jort"! But I still can't get the idea in my head that entire areas/cities/towns no longer wear jean shorts! Are blue jeans frowned on there as well? I find this very strange!

Just to resuscitate this thread....

Summer's here, and I cut three pairs of old jeans down into jorts.

And just to annoy anyyone who doesn't like them, since they were jeans that already had holes in the knees (what rocker would be without at least a couple of those?) I managed to distress them enough that there's the beginnings of some holes in the jorts leg.

So yesterday I'm at the mall and around the corner it comes. A man about 30's ish wearing
cut off jean shorts about mid thigh with the really long strings hanging sporatically to his knees.
Oh, and these were the real deal, not the fake wanna be's that you could buy in a store like pre distressed jeans, with factory rips in them. these were home grown antique cut offs.
It was classic 70's, I can't believe he didnt' have the mullet to totally rock out the look.

I just stared for a moment, afraid to move, didn't want to spook him.

I've NEVER seen a post generate this kind of response unless it was one that turned "nasty".

I say, get some, and wear them. Maybe you could find an old polyester shirt that says "Good Boy - Gone Bad", or "Lady On The Prowl".

Maybe I'll get a pair.
