14th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival - April 5 - June 3, 2007
Pirates and Princesses will reign at Epcot April 5-June 3, 2007 for the 14th Annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Topiaries featuring a pirate ship, Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Tinker Bell will highlight the 2007 festivities. Thirty million flowers and trees, lush rose gardens and elaborate topiaries will grace the park's 300 acres. Nightly Flower Power concerts will rock the landscape with live entertainment from top acts of the 60s and '70s. Previously running for seven weeks, the popular festival expands to 60 days this year and offers more floral fantasy and gardening fun than ever before.

Cinderella Castle ‘Suite Dreams’
As part of the Year of A Million Dreams celebration, Walt Disney World Resort will begin awarding select vacationers an exclusive stay in a one-of-a-kind suite. Unused castle space is being transformed into Cinderella Castle Suite -- a place where lucky Walt Disney World guests will spend a dream-come-true night beginning in late January 2007. Guests will be chosen early in the day to spend that night in the royal suite inside Cinderella Castle. After the rest of the Magic Kingdom guests have headed home, these lucky recipients can wrap themselves in the cozy comforts of their dream suite complete with rich details befitting the 17th century fairytale and the French chateaus that inspired the design of Cinderella Castle.

"Finding Nemo -The Musical" Sneak Previews
The undersea world of the hit film "Finding Nemo" comes to life in a new musical stage show at Animal Kingdom, as part of The Year of a Million Dreams. Guests can get a sneak peek at the show November 5-18, 2006. "Finding Nemo-The Musical" will immerse visitors in the story of Marlin and Nemo through a dazzling production that combines puppets, dancers, aerialists and animated backdrops. Specific show times during the soft opening will be shared with guests daily on the park tip board. In addition; sneak previews for Annual Passholders are being set aside for each day's first seating December 1–10, 2006. Passholders must sign up on the passholder web site, in advance to attend. Confirmation and ID is required.

Hi all, and welcome to another edition of Dining Out! This month we thought we’d discuss a place with a little bit of Italian Flair… L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Restorante, which can be found in the Italy Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase. After basking in the air of Italian romance and architecture, you can be wined and dined with authentic Italian Cuisine while being serenaded by a trio of violins.

Alfredo’s offers genuine Italian cuisine in the form of pastas like Le Originali Fettuccine Alfredo and Lasagnette Pasticciate alla Modenese (aka Lasanga), salads like Alfredo's Famous Caesar Salad, as well as many Italian desserts such as Gelati and Cannolis. There are also many Italian favorites for our little diners too. Selections such as child portion Fettuccine Alfredo, Spaghetti and Lasagna are available along with standard “kid friendly” staples like Chicken Nuggets. There is also an extensive wine list to add a certain level of class to any meal here. The restaurant itself allows for very elegant dining with an intimate feel though the tables are laid out in a very open, high ceiling room. The beautiful Italian Architecture flows through the interior of the restaurant as well, continuing that transition to this most amazing country.

Meal prices here are comparable to other establishments around World Showcase. The lunch menu selections range from $10-25 per entrée for adults and average $5 for children. Dinner entrees range from $15-25 per entrée for adults and also average around $5 for children. All children’s meals come with a soft drink.

Advanced Dining Reservations are highly recommended for this establishment and can be made by contacting Walt Disney World Dining at (407)WDW-DINE. Alfredo’s also participates in both the Magic Your Way with Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Experience. If you are interested in checking out what Alfredo’s has to offer, INTERCOT has both the Lunch and Dinner menus available for reference.

Alfredo’s offers elegant dining for the whole family. Personally though, we prefer to dine here when we’re in a mood for a more romantic meal. We simply adore the entire Italian Pavilion, so having a meal here only finishes off an already wonderful experience taking in the art, architecture and music that is Italy. Boo! How was your Halloween? Seems like we had all sorts of Halloween happenings in the Water Cooler last month.

minnie-mouse wanted to know what sort of costumes INTERCOTees (or their kids) would be wearing this year. DisneyDog’s son was Superman, Ghost*Hostess’ daughter was Ariel, Amy-rella’s daughters went as Cinderella and Mulan. Some members’ kids went the traditional route: DarthMacho’s daughter was a witch, iheartmickey’s daughter went as a black cat, DisneyAggies’ son was a scarecrow and Sunni9998’s daughter dressed as a witch. The big hit this year? Pirates of the Caribbean of course! Just ask a few of our members: kakn7294’s daughter, ElenitaB’s son, DVC2004’s son, Kenny1113’s son, JustCallMeSquishy’s daughter all wore Pirates gear. Whether you dressed up or not, I hope your Halloween was fun!

Have you ever been “spooked”? cantgetenuff shared her first-time experience: “I opened the door, and there was a big jack-o-lantern bag FILLED with goodies! Coloring books, candy and treats, toys, etc. There was a cute little poem, saying something to the effect that we had been 'spooked' and now needed to make two copies of this letter and make two treats for two of our friends to "spook" them.” So next year, try sharing this cute idea with your neighbors and friends!

Happy Birthday INTERCOT! We celebrated our 9th anniversary on October 12th! Thank you JohnY for creating this wonderful place that we all call our Internet home!

Jamie’s Friday parties for October included the It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Inter-World Party, the Friday the 13th Funtastical Freaky Friday Party, the Phabulously Phun Phaux Photography Phestival, and to top off the month we had the INTERCOT Freaky Frightful Friday Halloween Party. Thanks Jamie for another month of fun Fridays!
