In the sprit of Christmas Surprises, the Insider is bringing you a second edition overflowing with Holiday Joy. There’s just so much festive fun going around at Walt Disney World and INTERCOT that we couldn’t cram it all into one edition. So we gave our monthly columns a bit of a Holiday Vacation and we are bringing you another look at Walt Disney World Resort Decorations, a Virtual way to celebrate the Season, some Disney recipes fit for Holiday festivities and a look at how Walt Disney World will ring in 2007. So with out further delay—It’s Insider time!

I've been lucky enough to live, work, and play around Walt Disney World just about everyday for the last 12 years. I'm always amazed at what Disney can do while making everything look so simple and matter-of-fact. I'm especially amazed by the Christmas decorations around the World. One day there's nothing, the next day all the halls are decked with holly and anything else festive.

I decided this year to take pictures of the different resorts and post them online for all to see. I know there are many INTERCOTees that would love to be here during the holidays, but cannot. This is my way of bringing a little bit of Disney to you during the holiday season.

Camera in hand and husband in tow we head out. I figured we'd get this done in a day. I have my Jeep, I can just zip from resort to resort, right? Nope. That's not how it happened. I became so taken with everything that I lingered and enjoyed and wandered, lingered some more, took photos galore (meanwhile my Dear Husband thinks I'm absolutely off my rocker), and really noticed some of the decorations.

Some of my favorite touches are the icing around the edges of the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian, and the way the Poinsettias circled the snake plant at the Polynesian, the tropical ornaments on the tree in front of Olivia's at Old Key West and the magnolias in the garland at Port Orleans Riverside. What about the Mardi Gras masks in the wreaths at Port Orleans French Quarter? And let's not forget the quaint, yet amazing village at the Yacht Club. Each section represents a part of Walt Disney World. Unfortunately, my photos don't do this particular display justice. For those of you that are lucky enough to see it, I urge you to take your time and really, really look at it--you'll be amazed!!!!!

I hope that you all will enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. The collection of pictures has grown since the last edition of the Insider, so be sure to take a second look. From the Piglet822 family, we wish everyone at INTERCOT a safe, healthy and happy Holiday Season.

It’s the time of year for friends to gather and share the warmth and cheer of the Holiday Season. As an alternative to the typical foods of the Season, INTERCOTees can now share a piece of Disney World at their Holiday Parties. The Walt Disney World resort has recently made public five festive recipes for some totally tasty treats.

Looking for an alternative to the typical fruit pies of the Season? Then take a look at the Apple-Cranberry Pie from Epcot.

Want to present a piece of Christmas past? Then try the Chocolate-Coconut Confection Bars, a classic treat of yesteryear currently available at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.

Want to celebrate paradise style? Then the Chocolate-Crusted Key Lime Tart from the Grand Floridian Cafe would be a great choice.

How about a treat as colorful as Christmas lights? The Tie-Dyed Cheesecake from Disney’s Pop Century Resort will serve up just that.

Need a fun dessert sure to put a twinkle in your guests’ eyes? The Twinkle Tiramisu from Disney’s Pop Century Resort aims to do just that.

<< The Virtual Holiday Season with JPL  >>

As the Holidays are upon us, some of our members are celebrating in a "virtual" way in Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom Online Game. Our members are decking the halls with virtual goodies in the true spirit of the season.

The Virtual Magic Kingdom (VMK) has offered many holiday items for sale for our characters; including pins, Snowman Magic, toy soldiers, Christmas trees, wreaths, candy cane lights, dreidel chairs, gingerbread Christmas trees, and even a Santa hat complete with Mickey ears. The two main holiday events the game offers are in-park quests at both Walt Disney World & Disneyland and a gift-giving program throughout the game.

Our INTERCOT VMK community is still growing and we welcome all comers’ even non-members of the site, who quickly join and become active members. Some of activities include decorating our rooms and chatting about the Holidays and our Disney experiences. This year will feature our 2nd annual Secret Santa Party, organized by INTERCOTee Mickeynuts. The INTERCOT and Holiday Spirit is alive and well on VMK!

<< Ringing in 2007 at Walt Disney World >>

Walt Disney World Resort ushers in 2007 with a dazzling display of entertainment, parades, fireworks, thrills and extended hours throughout the Vacation Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom, Disney-MGM Studios, and Epcot will feature special fireworks displays to celebrate the New Year. Both Epcot and Magic Kingdom will feature an earlier evening fireworks spectacular so that families with children can join in the revelry before they retire. For the older crowd, Pleasure Island will once again host its annual New Years Eve bash.
