Muppet Mobile Lab At Epcot
After a brief appearance at Disney's
California Adventure in California, the Muppet Mobile Lab made a limited
engagement in Epcot's Future World. The roving lab is part of a play test
that will allow Disney Imagineering to try out advanced robotic, interactive
and transportation technologies, mixed with human comedy talent. There is no
certainty at this time whether the Muppet Mobile Lab will become a permanent
feature. The ideas could be transferred to a variety of other characters
and locations, said Christopher Holm, Director of the principal technical
staff.
That kind of engineering really gets me going!!! –

I love the nostalgia part and looking at pictures of it when
it first opened and now is AMAZING. But i knew it would only be a matter of
time before there was an "upgrade". -

<<Stan's Selected Picture
Spots>>
by Stan Kelley Photography
Over the past few years I've scouted out
hundreds of portrait locations where I could place individuals, couples, or
families. Many of these I've never gotten to use- or if I did, the clients
didn't give me permission to show the portraits (that's their choice).
So I thought I'd encourage my INTERCOT friends to try some of these places
with me, by selecting them for a special discount. If you book me for
portraits at one of my "selected locations" and tell me you saw this offer
on INTERCOT, I'll give you a $50 bounty for a signed photo release instead
of the usual $20.
Here's the first 5 of my select locations:
Spot #1
Sitting on the grass in front of the bridge at Port Orleans Riverside.
Spot #2
Standing around the covered wagon at the Fort Wilderness settlement.
Spot #3
On Tom Sawyer Island looking across the water at Big Thunder Mountain RR.
Spot
#4 In front of the Frontierland shack. If you pose for me here in
tuxedos and evening gowns (holding champagne glasses?) I promise I will make
you famous in the annals of Stan Kelley Photography- surely there is a group
that would think this is fun.
Spot #5
Sitting on the grass by the water behind the Grand Floridian.

Off Topic
with ChipDale >>
Well, school’s back in session, the leaves are beginning to
fall and there’s a hint of chill in the air. As we say goodbye to summer,
let’s take a look back at the August Water Cooler topics.
Friday parties in August included the Merry Chocolate Chip
and Dale Party, the So Who is Rio? Party, the Sandcastles in the Sky Party,
the Waffle this Way Friday Party and to round off the month (and the
summer), the Annual Labor Day BBQ (and a Birthday) Bash. Thanks Jamie for
another fun-filled bunch of Fridays!
In addition to our monthly “Cooking with INTERCOT” thread, we
had quite a few topics on food in August. Marilyn Michetti wanted to know
what is the nastiest thing you have ever eaten, which received numerous
replies. Flower: curdled chocolate milk, RenDuran: a Twinkie with moldy
filling, jillluvsdisney: pig brain tacos, drummerboy: deep fried
rattlesnake, SurferStitch: caviar. gueli polled INTERCOTees about Sushi
(with 68% liking it and 31% not liking it) and wanted to know what was your
worst dining experience? drummerboy wanted know what was the oddest thing
that you’ve eaten and liked? Tigger24601: elephant jerky, ftwildernesskid:
aligator tail, jennbunn: deep-fried pickles, and Mousefever: Sugar on Snow.
So what’s the oddest/nastiest thing that you’ve eaten?
We get a lot of topics in the Water Cooler asking for medical
advice and opinions. Please keep in mind that even though the minimum age
to become an INTERCOT member is 13, we have many young readers and some of
these topics can get too explicit or too personal. When posting, please
remember to use the “5-Year Old Rule” – if it’s not something that can be
discussed in front of your 5-year old daughter, then you should probably
refrain from posting it. Even though we have many qualified nurses and
other medical personnel who frequent the boards and are more than happy to
give advice, it’s always best to check with your own doctor.
Special congratulations to rt207 on the adoption of your new
son. Tam, we hope you enjoy every moment with your new bundle of joy!
August posting milestones were reached by: ChipnDaleGal –
23,000 posts, vizsla – 19,000 posts, SgtTigger – 4,000 posts, DisneyDudet –
3,800 posts, DizNee143 – 3,000 posts, pogo – 3,000 posts, Caroleh – 2,500

BrerSchultzy – 1,000 posts, IloveDisney71 – Senior Cast Member, and The
Flying Dutchman – Cast Member Trainee. Congrats to all of you and remember,
it’s not the quantity, but the quality that counts!
That about wraps it up for August. See you next month!
