Epcot's
Karamelle-Kuche is one of the
newest ways to indulge your sweet tooth at Walt Disney World. Over the past
few months INTERCOTee's have had the chance to try out this new sweet shop
located in the Germany pavilion, here's what they've had to say:
"It's about caramel, caramel and more
caramel. You can watch them make the caramel creations and then choose from
apples, cookies, fruits, etc. all with caramel of course. Oh, and they have
wonderful caramel popcorn. There is usually a line, and the shop is small,
but it's worth it!"--Melanie
"I could stand in there and just smell
the caramel all day. We got a bunch of snacks (many items are on the Disney
Dining Plan) and they were all so yummy! It is a must-do for us on every
trip now "--ibelieveindisneymagic
"It is heavenly. We have gone there on
our last 2 trips and it is a must do. The smells are amazing. Try the
popcorn. It is the best we ever had. "--wildernesslady
"Beware they run out of goodies fairly
early in the evening. We let this happen to us twice; once right before the
fireworks and the second time at about 7 PM. "--TheDuckRocks
"Really good caramel popcorn. I had a
caramel apple there too. Its always a long line, but it moves pretty fast.
"--luvDaMousea
"It does not disappoint. I ordered a
chocolate covered caramel and savored every bite until my son stole it from
me! He got a chocolate covered marshmallow on a stick, but did not like it.
It was OK, but it paled in comparison to the caramel."--Donald
"The pre- bagged caramel corn is
great, but they also make it up fresh in the shop. It is fun to watch. Be
sure you also try some of this. It is delicious!! I brought bags home on our
last trip. "--MinnieMommie
<<The Scoop on Ice Cream
with Mickey'sGirl>>
Ice Cream is a food group in our
family, and when on holiday at the World, it is consumed at least once, if
not twice per day by our children, so we budget for it in advance! Ice Cream
at Walt Disney World can be broken down into three categories; Novelty bars,
Ice Cream Shops and Other Frozen Treats.
Novelty bars can be found in abundance from the carts throughout the parks.
They can also be found at the resorts in either the Quick Service
restaurants or in the gift shops. These frozen treats include:
-The ever famous Premium Ice Cream bar (the Mickey head bar)
-The Ice Cream sandwich (also Mickey shaped)
-Frozen Bananas and
-Giant Popsicles
We start each and every vacation with a Mickey Bar, and the boys usually
have at least one per day while we are there. Great news is that these
treats are counted as “Snacks” if you are on the Disney Dining Plan!
There are several Ice Cream Shops throughout Walt Disney World.
-At the Magic Kingdom, there is The Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, Aunti
Gravity’s in Tomorrowland , Mrs. Potts’ Cupboard in Fantasyland, Sleepy
Hollow over in Liberty Square, and Aloha Isle (home of the famous Dole
Whip).
-At Disney Studios you can grab a scoop at Hollywood Scoops on Sunset
Boulevard or Dinosaur Gertie’s over at Echo Lake.
-At the Animal Kingdom you can go to Dino Bites for hand-dipped, or Dino
Diner for soft serve in Dinoland. Softserve is also available at Anandapur
Ice Cream in Asia, Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa, and Camp Soft Serve at
Camp Minie – Mickey.
-You can find Ice Cream at the Happy Landing Ice Cream shop at Typhoon
Lagoon and Typhoon Tilly’s Snack Shack at Typhoon Lagoon or at Avalunch or
The Warming Hut at Blizzard Beach.
These places are all great, but my two favourite Ice Cream Parlors are over
at the Epcot resorts. Seashore Sweets at The Boardwalk has hand dipped cones
at reasonable prices, and the apex of Disney World Parlor Ice Cream has to
be Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club, where you can get anything from a
basic hand dip all the way to the Kitchen Sink (it has a whole can of
whipped cream!)!
Some other frozen treats to be aware of are;
-Frozen lemonade from carts throughout the parks
-Frozen drinks from the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland
-Frozen drinks at the Enchanted Grove and Scuttle’s Landing in Fantasyland
-The fabulous Citrus Swirl at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland
-Kaki Gori available in Japan
-Gelato from Ices and Gelati in Italy
-Frozen treats at The Outpost at Epcot
-Frozen Coke (or another frozen soda) from Peevy’s over by Echo Lake
