World Resort Marks Magical New Year’s 2001
Walt Disney World
Resort rings in 2001 with a dazzling display of entertainment, parades,
fireworks and extended hours throughout the Vacation Kingdom. On the big
night, revelers can sample Disney’s millennium magic with a host of
festivities at Epcot: “Tapestry
of Nations” -- a brilliant parade featuring dozens of giant colorful
puppets weaving around World Showcase lagoon, at 3:30 and 5:15 p.m.; “IllumiNations
2000: Reflections of Earth” -- a nighttime spectacle with lasers,
fireworks and fiery torches orchestrated to an original soundtrack, at 9
p.m.; and
Millennium Village -- a multicultural showcase representing more than 50

the Season for the Epcot Candlelight Processional Nov. 24-Dec. 30
Actor Jodi
Benson, the voice of Ariel, will headline the November lineup of Candlelight
Processional guest narrators as “Holidays Around the World” lights up Epcot
Nov. 24-Dec. 30. Celebrity narrators including Angela Bassett, James Avery
and Leeza Gibbons will enliven the traditional Christmas Story through
narration and music. The narrators are accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra
and live massed choir as well. Three shows are scheduled per evening at 5,
6:45 and 8:15 p.m. at the America Gardens Theatre. For additional

Dazzle and Holiday Lights Deck Disney-MGM Studios in November
There are now 5
million “illuminating” reasons to visit the sixth annual Osborne Family
Spectacle of Lights, the largest residential holiday light display in the
world, at Disney-MGM Studios. The nightly light display, beginning Nov. 22
and lasting until Jan. 7, 2001, is located on the theme park’s “back lot,”
providing a picturesque atmosphere for a nightly snowfall, a tree made of
100,000 lights and more. Guests also will receive a pair of complimentary
holographic glasses, allowing them to see images of snowflakes when looking
at the lights. The display is included in regular Disney-MGM Studios theme

Harlem
Globetrotters Holiday Series, Nov. 23-26
Basketball fans will feast on dazzling dunks and no-look passes as the world
famous Harlem Globetrotters return to the sports complex for a Thanksgiving
weekend holiday series in November. Led by veterans Paul “Showtime” Gaffney
and Matt “Showbiz” Jackson, the Globetrotters will play four games at the
fieldhouse, their fourth annual stop at Walt Disney World Resort. Game times
are 7 p.m. on Nov. 23-25, with a special matinee game at 2 p.m. on Nov. 26.
Ticket prices range from $12 (upper deck) to $22 (courtside/children) and

Man Killed on
Splash Mountain
A 37-year-old man was killed after he climbed out of a boat on the Splash
Mountain flume ride at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom yesterday and was
struck by another of the eight-passenger boats. According to sheriff's
spokesman Bernie Presha "He got out of the boat on his own, he wasn't
pushed, he didn't fall, why he did that nobody knows."

WebDisney Directory Passes 400 Site Mark - Mousehut joins INTERCOT Network
of sites
WebDisney, "The Definitive Guide to Disney on the Internet" and an INTERCOT
network site today announced that it's directory of Disney destinations has
reached the 400 site mark. Founded in late 1998, the site has garnered a
collection of high quality links and services for the Disney online
community. WebDisney was recently rebranded as
INTERCOT's WebDisney to facilitate a
tighter integration with it's network sites, Intercot.com: Walt Disney World
Inside & Out, and INTERCOT West:
Disneyland Inside & Out. At the same time, Mousehut has also been
rebranded as INTERCOT's Mousehut.Mail,
a free provider of web based email and it's design integrated into the
INTERCOT "look and feel".

Festival of the Masters Celebrates 25 Years of Artistry
For art-lovers who go gaga over Degas or rave over Renoir, Disney’s 25th
annual Festival of the Masters art show, held Nov. 10-12 at Downtown Disney,
offers contemporary works to quench an artistic thirst. One of the
Southeast’s most prestigious art shows, the three-day festival displays
works by some of today’s top visual artists competing in the juried event.
Guests also can savor samplings from Downtown Disney restaurants for a small
fee as they view oil paintings, sculpture and more. The festival is free to
the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

Jazz Fest Showcases Smooth Sounds
Guests can jam to the cool sounds of jazz during the Eighth Annual Pleasure
Island Jazz Festival, Nov. 10-12. The three-night festival is center stage
for contemporary jazz greats Ken Navarro, Jonathon Butler and more. Nightly
performances begin at 7 p.m. at the Pleasure Island Jazz Company, West End
Stage and Hub Video Stage, all located on Pleasure Island at Downtown
Disney. The Jazz Festival is included in regular Pleasure Island admission
of $18.86 plus tax.
