This is all such great news that everything is coming out well and not too overdone. I get kind of when I hear about the updates becoming more and more like Horizons. I was an emotional mess at the age of 14 when that closed. My heart was very much into Horizons and i'm super excited that it's almost "coming back" in one of my other favorite attractions, Spaceship Earth. I think Disney kind of got the hint that they made a mistake in a sense when they closed Horizons for good. A lot of people were not happy about that and disagreed with such a change (Mission:Space). I'm not saying Mission:Space is a terrible attraction, I just don't think that it could ever "replace" what we lost when Horizons was demolished.

Disney has a great idea to change spaceship earth. Now the change is coming in spaceship earth ride. I love touch screens.

We need to all thank those original imagineers that designed SSE again, becuase if they hadnt made the ride track part of the structural support for the sphere SSE would have never lasted this long. We would have been stuck with "Time Racers" roller coaster.

Oh good! It looks as if (at least as of right now) that SSE will be open while we are there. Hopefully with some neat new features!

I'm very disappointed that SSE will be closed during our vacation.
The refurb plans sound great but I hope it's not a drastic change because I would really miss certain parts of the ride. We ride it numerous time per visit to the park and it never gets old.

Groan groan groan. Why the two attractions (SSE and HM) I was really looking forward to?

We saw the new pre-show area today. It looked nice ... very sleek and clean looking.

We didn't try anything out ... just poked our heads in ... but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves with the games and stuff.

We'll stop back later in the week to check it out in more detail.

It didn't say thay are taking out Iron's voice, but that it's getting a new narration. Although it is unlikely, Iron's could return and do the new narration. Keep in mind that I said it's very unlikely, but it could happen.

Glad to hear they're going to be doing all this work, but sad to know it'll be down while we're there this October. But - it'll just give us something to look forward to next trip!!

Default Oh, bummer. This means the ride part will be closed during

our trip in Sept/Oct. My kids all LOVE this ride...and were looking forward to "going in the big ball again". Guess this means we'll just have to go back again

I am sooooo excited that the renovations won't be going on while we are there in mid-November. Now, I just wish they'd install some wheelchair accessible cars so my DH could ride with me.

I'm also disappointed that SE is scheduled to be closed while we're there. But, since we're going mid to late Oct. there's an outside chance of some soft openings. And if its closed, well, what a great excuse for another trip in 2008.

It looks like the new Disney is putting more effort into improving what it has which is good.

This sounds like it will be a GREAT renovation, but I wish it would be done with during my vacation....not gonna happen.

I have been so lucky with my disney planning that I have never gone when there was a major refurbishment going on (knocking on wood). Spaceship Earth & Haunted Mansion are two of my favs and they will both be completed when I get back. I am so excited.
