Usually the crowds in early May are pretty light. You may run into some school groups on trips, but other than that you should be OK.

I've been 3x to Disney in May. I've always gone in mid-late May. The crowds weren't light, but they weren't extreme. I was very taken back in January of how busy it was for my honeymoon. Just make sure you hit what you want, and use the fast pass system, and you will be fine. Have a magical trip!

Just curious, I'm going to Epcot and AK on 5/4/07. Any thoughts on crowds then, or should the response to the OP be more or less the case here.

How about 5/12, the Saturday before Mother's Day?

Generally, I've found the entire month of May to be a very good time to visit. Crowds are manageable throughout the month. They tend to begin to pick up considerably around the end of the month particularly Memorial Day weekend when many of the local schools release for the summer!
